Gilneas's Love and Sorrow

As Lord Godfrey, leader of the rebels, took the initiative to open the massive gates of the Gilneas high wall and began taking in the refugees who had been camped beneath it to expand his army, this land, long utterly unfamiliar to the outside world, finally returned to public view.

Endless rain, a distinctive local accent, and dramatically changed fashions—everything about the Gilneas Kingdom felt immensely fresh to the world.

Well, nearly all the older generation who had dealt with the Gilneas Kingdom back then were dead by now. The new generation had only ever read about Gilneas's culture and character in books.

That said, the entirety of the Silverpine Forest region was now Lordaeron territory. After gaining a basic understanding of Gilneas's internal situation, Queen Calia immediately took emergency measures.

A full-strength Lordaeron legion swiftly moved into Shadowfang Keep and Timbermaw Hold, the closest locations to the Gilneas high wall. Led personally by Grand Marshal Garithos, they quickly established an encirclement and blockade line there to prevent wild Worgen from infiltrating Lordaeron lands and harming its people.

The Worgen plague was simply too terrifying. If this specialized plague targeting humans was mishandled, it could very well become a disaster on the scale of the Scourge. There was no choice but to treat it with utmost seriousness.

The world's attention instantly shifted to the northern region of the Eastern Kingdoms. After all, recent news had been painfully repetitive—either tsunamis or earthquakes—and everyone was sick of it.

The fierce battles in Dragonblight on Northrend and at the Maelstrom in the Endless Sea were inaccessible to media reporters, so news outlets everywhere, all eager for a major scoop, immediately converged on Silverpine Forest.
