History

Jinlan Mountain was formerly the semi-blessed land of Jinlan Village. Records indicate that it was not naturally formed: an exotic domain fell from the Wasteland to the earth, producing anomalous power and becoming the beginning of the semi-blessed land. Its current seal dates to that origin 141.

The site was associated with evil creatures in the past. Yu Ziqing speculates that the massive Jade Tomb within the mountain may be the remaining body of a major evil entity whose consciousness and divine spirit were sealed by Jiayin City’s County Governor, Xu Hang 141.

Jinlan Mine and its semi-blessed land later overlapped with the Wasteland. A rift filled with violent magma opened, and despite An Lan’s intervention, the mine fell into the void along with the villagers’ surroundings 30. After its return, the mountain’s anomalous power strengthened daily, making clandestine investigation nearly impossible 185.

Jinlan Mountain underwent a major expansion after the Jade Tomb regained a measure of consciousness. Its volume increased severalfold, its tallest peak pierced the clouds, and the expansion damaged part of Old Yang’s Mountain Protection Array 145. The surrounding locust trees uprooted themselves and retreated from the newly expanded boundary 145.

Environment and Properties

• Located in the Wasteland near the divide between its northern and southern regions; the surrounding area remains comparatively habitable despite the worsening cold 168.
• The mountain’s original valuable resource was Jinlan Ore, a rare, low-yield mineral regarded as replaceable outside limited third-tier flying-sword applications 24 93.
