Lake's brow twitched unconsciously beside him.

Lake's eyes watched the battlefield unfolding in the arena before him—the angels and demons locked in a bloody struggle. Hearing Mephisto's words, he glanced at him expressionlessly. "Is that so?"
Mephisto smiled like an old gentleman. "Yes. We're merely one-time partners."
Lake smiled. "I know. But I'd be even more willing to give you this chance—to make you understand that submitting to me isn't something shameful. In fact, for you, it's the better choice."
"I don't think so."
"What a pity."
Lake chuckled, withdrew his gaze from the battlefield before him, and then looked toward Mephisto. His figure gradually turned into a phantom. "I'll leave this place to you. I'm going to Mars first to clean up some loose ends."
Mephisto nodded. "I'll fulfill my part of the contract."
Lake vanished from where he stood.

Above Mars.

Taking Sharir's appearance, Lake walked straight out of the Fifth Legion commander's barracks. He drew the Sword of Light Victory Contract and struck down the soldier that the Heaven Overlord had planted there. Expressionless, he walked out of his barracks, and with a thought, his senses instantly spread in all directions.
