Zhang Yang survived the Primeval Forest’s demon attacks, established a village around the Wood Demon Tower, and defeated the Great Horned Deer Lord with Wu Yuan and their soldiers. After beginning a major village upgrade, he prepared to enhance his troops with the souls and materials they had gained.

• Zhang Yang led his soldiers through battles against the Azure Wolf, Black Giant Bear, Red Eagle Demon, and Black Spiders, strengthening his elite troops and surviving the spiders’ poison.
• Zhang Yang used his Imprisonment Spell to kill the Earth-Walking Wood Demon, gained the Wood Demon Tower, and defended it against the Deer-Headed Demon and its summoned forces.
• Zhang Yang moved the tower to a hill, founded a village with a Training Ground and Barracks, and worked with Wu Yuan to train soldiers in spear throwing and craft Imprisonment Spears.
• When the Deer Demon’s forces attacked the established village, Wu Yuan and the soldiers killed the Red Eagles and Mountain Monster, then Zhang Yang helped defeat the Great Horned Deer Lord.
• Zhang Yang expelled the Abyssal Ghost from Wu Yuan, destroyed it after it possessed him, and sold incomplete demon souls to build up the village’s energy.
• Zhang Yang cultivated a Village Imp, ordered it to search underground for ores, and began upgrading the village with a Level 5 Residential House and Farmland.
• Zhang Yang assigned the Mountain Monster soul to enhance Sword and Shield Soldiers and agreed to wait until the Elite Archers made arrows before enhancing them with the Deer Demon Lord soul.

Zhang Yang strengthened his village with trained soldiers, expanding defenses, new weapons, and a Mountain God faith while preparing for a Hero’s Trial. After surviving Jackalman and Orc attacks, he predicted the Orcs would return within a month and began Wu Yuan’s Hero’s Trial.

• Zhang Yang formed an elite squad from Song Dachui, Wang Mumu, Duan Kuan, and Zhou Datou, recruited soldiers and craftsmen, and began studying demonic energy after discovering he could purify it.
• When wolfmen attacked, Zhang Yang and his archers killed several enemies, then repelled a larger Jackalman assault with the Soul Force Field and the Four Berserker Bears, though seven soldiers died.
• Zhang Yang revived the fallen soldiers, evolved the Village Imp into a Ghost Priest, expanded the village, and explored the abandoned deer-demon territory before Heavy Armored Deer Horn Cavalry drove his party away.
• Zhang Yang built a Mountain God Temple, and after the Mountain God manifested at a ceremony, the village gained believers, loyalty, and prosperity.
• Zhang Yang nearly lost control of his soul while absorbing Mountain Monster essence, but its fusion with the Azure Wolf Essence strengthened him, allowing him to refine mana and enhance his soldiers’ weapons.
• Zhang Yang led Wu Yuan and a force of soldiers toward the quarry, encountered green-scaled orcs attacking the Jackalman village, and defeated two Orc Squads before retreating from a larger force.
• The Orcs destroyed Jackalman Castle and withdrew without pursuing Zhang Yang’s group, and Zhang Yang predicted they would return with tactics and weapons adapted to his defenses before beginning Wu Yuan’s Hero’s Trial.

Zhang Yang helped Wu Yuan survive the Hero’s Trial, killed the Fire Spirit and Fire Crow, then returned to strengthen his village for war with the Orc Tribe. The arc left him weighing a costly offer of help from the Great King’s Black Fox.

• Zhang Yang entered the Hero’s Trial with Wu Yuan, who became chief of the Guada Tribe, and helped him prepare for a sand serpent while experimenting with fire magic.
• Zhang Yang’s trial escalated after mammoths destroyed much of the Guada Tribe, and Wu Yuan’s choices triggered a mission to seal the Fire Spirit before the volcano erupted.
• Zhang Yang helped Wu Yuan kill the Sabertooth Tiger King, promoted him to the King of Spearmen Template, and gained Zhao Xuanling’s quest to save the Tiger Tribe’s territory.
• Zhang Yang and Wu Yuan confronted the Fire Crow and Fire Spirit at the volcano, and Zhang Yang killed both before the trial returned them to the village.
• Zhang Yang upgraded Qin Yidao, Liu Dali, and Sun Goudan as Kings of Archers, recruited and organized villagers, and prepared specialized weapons and troops for a fight with the Orc Tribe.
• Zhang Yang adjusted his training plans after discovering that many ordinary recruits could flee when morale dropped, while Qin Ge described the advantages of elite troop types.
• The Black Fox offered Zhang Yang the Great King’s help against the Orc Haru Tribe for ten white-quality Fragments of Hope, but refused his counteroffer and said its group would remain neutral if he declined.

Zhang Yang strengthened his village against the Orc Tribe and the coming winter, then entered the Transcendence Trial and took command of a Death Warrior Camp. He helped the Qiao family and allied forces seize Bald Head Ridge Fortress, but the demons were expected to attack again by nightfall.

• Zhang Yang killed the Black Fox after it tested the village, then used its demon soul to strengthen himself and prepare for the Orc Tribe’s attack.
• Orc Lord Aharu breached the village walls and killed Qin Yidao before Zhang Yang’s fighters drove the Orcs away, and Zhang Yang later revived Qin Yidao with a Resurrection Potion.
• Zhang Yang accepted Reyn and twenty refugees, organized village defenses and winter preparations, and expanded the farmland and population despite looming food shortages and supernatural winter threats.
• Zhang Yang forged the Stag Tower Shield for Reyn and traded weapons and supplies with Wu Yu for 88 newcomers and a damaged Village Building Order.
• Zhang Yang entered the Transcendence Trial with Duan Kuan, secured a place in Sun Wencai’s grain convoy, and killed two Mirage Demon Soldiers on the way to the Great Wall.
• After receiving command of the Death Warrior Camp, Zhang Yang gathered supplies and rallied the imprisoned Qiao family to retake Bald Head Ridge Fortress.
• Zhang Yang secretly made nine high-grade magic artifacts and led the Death Warrior Camp and Qiao family into battle despite orders to charge with the allied troops.
• Zhang Yang disrupted the demon right wing with Armor-Piercing Cones, allowing Great General Zhang Yetin’s troops to capture Bald Head Ridge Fortress, though the demons were expected to attack again by nightfall.
