As soon as the Power Armor parts were all replicated, Karl raised his arm and shouted:
"Armor, combine!"
Parts from all over the sky swarmed in, quickly reassembling and integrating onto Karl's body.
In the blink of an eye, a Power Armor with a silver-gray main body appeared in the Dream World.
The Power Armor's design referenced Tiga Ultraman, a character Karl particularly liked.
However, the overall feel leaned more towards the Ultraman armors from "Ultraman Suit."
The armor's chest had a blue gem, but this wasn't just a decorative detail to recreate the character's appearance; the Power Armor actually required it.
The Armorsmith's Power Armor came in two models: Guardian and Infiltrator. The Infiltrator model needed a gem-like node on the chest or fist to emit lightning energy.
Beyond that, Karl had other ideas for the gem on the Power Armor's chest.
More than fifty years ago, people had already utilized the Khyber Dragonshard's ability to bind elemental creatures, developing special crafting techniques that allowed armor to harness elemental power.
The position of the blue gem Karl designed was reserved specifically for a Khyber Dragonshard.
"I wonder how much of my design can be replicated using that regular armor..."
Glancing down at the Power Armor on his body, Karl touched it reluctantly, beginning to consider the practicalities.
An Armorsmith could transform a set of regular armor into their designed Power Armor while holding a spellcasting tool.
However, this ability was limited by the armor's quality and volume.
Generally, Power Armor would completely cover every inch of the Armorsmith's body, even replacing missing limbs and allowing for normal movement.
But such modifications came at the cost of the Power Armor's overall thickness, so Armorsmiths typically opted for heavy armor when crafting their Arcane Power Armor.
The armor Karl "borrowed" from the Mind Flayer base was only medium armor; by any measure, it couldn't possibly perfectly replicate his designed Power Armor.
"Never mind. It's the Infiltrator model anyway, not the Guardian type for frontal assaults. A thinner armor is fine. Let's see how the attack methods work first."
Standing in the Dream World, Karl brought his hands together at his chest, activating the gem-like node on the armor's chest.
A beam of electrical light shot out, flying over 50 meters before finally dissipating.
This lightning emitter was the Infiltrator model's primary attack method, considered a simple ranged weapon with a minimum range of 30 meters and a maximum of 100 meters.
The range depended entirely on the Armorsmith's design, but its damage was not high.
Fortunately, this attack method had no usage limit, only a cooldown period to prevent overloading.
After that, Karl also tested the Power Armor's power stride and dampening field abilities.
The former allowed Karl to move faster while wearing the Power Armor, and the latter could minimize the sound of his movements.
Of course, if the Power Armor's design itself generated significant noise, this ability could only reduce the ambient sound.
"Good, all the main abilities have been tested. I should return to reality now."
Psionic energy surged, and Karl in reality opened his eyes.
He hadn't spent much time in the Dream World, so only a few minutes had passed since he entered.
Seeing Hopp standing vigilantly by his side, Karl stood up and patted her on the shoulder.
"I'm level 3 now. Once I get familiar with my current abilities, we'll set out to investigate tomorrow!"
"That fast!"
Hearing that Karl had also advanced to level 3, Hopp's expression was somewhat disheartened.
But thinking that Karl was, after all, a highly educated individual, she accepted the fact that he had easily surpassed her in level.
Returning to the house, Karl took out his wrench and put on the armor, transforming it into the Arcane Power Armor.
Looking at the handsome Power Armor, even though Hopp was a barbarian who had no need for armor, she reached out and touched its outer shell.
As she touched it, she exclaimed, "The power of an Artificer is truly marvelous!"
"Heh heh! That's the magic of combining science and magic! Next, I'll be leveling up my Warrior class. Once my Warrior class also reaches level 3, my final few shortcomings will be addressed!"
Proudly swinging his arm, Karl willed it, and the Power Armor detached from him.
Looking at the Power Armor standing in the corner of the room, Hopp asked curiously, "Will this thing stay like this forever?"
"Yes, as long as I don't transform any other armor into an Arcane Power Armor, it will maintain its current state."
Picking up his wrench again, Karl walked to the center of the room and focused intently, activating his level 3 Artificer ability, [Handy Tools].
Machine phantoms formed by arcane energy extended into the air, like someone performing a unique form of 3D modeling.
Every time a part of the machine began to solidify, Karl would lean in to make finer adjustments to that position.
Over three hours later, a mechanical device incorporating features like a processing lathe and wood cutting appeared in the room.
"Phew~, finally got this thing done. Once we return from our investigation, we'll start expanding the house. The space here is no longer enough for us to live comfortably."
Looking at the machine that occupied more than half of the room, Hopp tilted her head in thought for a moment, feeling that something was slightly off.
'Isn't the thing taking up the most space precisely this machine you just made?'
Although she thought this, Hopp also knew that Karl had prepared this machine for processing lumber later.
With this, they could say goodbye to the pain of cutting wood with flint daggers.
"Right, let's make some wooden cups and plates first, and also a wooden barrel for storing water. This way, we'll be able to store a bit more backup fresh water and saltwater, and we can even use the Alchemy Jug to prepare things like honey, beer, and wine for flavor!"
No sooner said than done, Karl took out the lumber from his Bag of Holding, then had Hopp turn the crank while he himself held the wood and used the cutting equipment to create various items.
Soon, beer mugs similar to those used for drinking beer in One Piece and wooden plates for holding food were completed.
Making the barrel was a bit more troublesome, but it didn't take much of Karl's time.
Though Karl was fast, he actually had a plan in mind.
Back in the Dream World, he had already planned out the furniture and other daily necessities he would need to make in the future.
Now, he was merely bringing the items to life according to the blueprints in his mind.
The Artificer class itself requires its job holders to have excellent manual skills. After officially taking the job, the core Spirituality of the class would also provide related buffs to the job holder.
This phenomenon exists in all job holders.
Arcanix internally refers to this phenomenon as [Spirituality Boost], which is said to be one of the benefits of leveling up.
However, having played DND, Karl had another name for it – Proficiency Bonus.
