Cheng Shi had no idea how terrified the gods were.
He only knew that if he did not move soon, his spoils of war would be gone.
The gods frozen in place had already been so frightened that they forgot the world was collapsing. They no longer joined forces to hold it up, so the Universe disintegrated even faster.
Cheng Shi and Big Cat were still studying how to circle back to the void where the trial had taken place, but by now, the thought was meaningless, because the void had almost completely fallen.
With no other choice, the two of them fled with all their might toward wherever life remained.
Hong Lin gritted her teeth and held on, nearly exhausting all her divine power. If she had not still possessed the authority of prosperity, she probably would have died of exhaustion halfway there.
But continuing to run was no solution either. The gods remained motionless, and the Universe would eventually be destroyed. The two of them could not save their lives by fleeing alone.
At that moment, desperate Big Cat had no time to think about anything else. She only wanted to die knowing the truth. She wanted to know whether God of Merriment's supposed salvation of the world was real.
"What is she waiting for?"
Indeed, what was she waiting for?
Cheng Shi had no answer either.
Originally, he thought that even if Truth's experiment and War's actions exceeded expectations, God of Merriment would surely be able to use everything they had done to make new arrangements—perhaps even use it to probe Primordial Origin.
But the problem now was that Primordial Origin's strength seemed to far exceed expectations. So would God of Merriment's original method of "saving the world" still work?
Why had that savior still not appeared?
