Lu Ban woke up to an unfamiliar ceiling.
"You're awake? The surgery was a success. You're a girl now."
A voice came from nearby. Lu Ban instinctively lowered his head and glanced down.
Thankfully, he hadn't crossed over again.
Turning his head, Lu Ban looked at the person beside the bed.
Momiji was peeling an apple. Her technique was much better than Amber's; the peel hadn't broken even once.
Lu Ban watched Momiji finish peeling the entire apple and was just about to reach out for it when he saw her take a big bite.
"Crisp and sweet."
She gave her verdict.
The scene felt strangely familiar, and for a moment, Lu Ban didn't know what to make of it.
But he soon realized one thing: his perception had returned to normal.
At least Momiji no longer had tentacles when he looked at her, nor did she look like a monster.
"Are there tentacles under your skirt?"
Lu Ban asked, afraid that several tentacles would suddenly snake out from beneath Momiji's skirt and tie him up.

Momiji nearly raised her leg to kick Lu Ban, but considering what was under her skirt, she ultimately refrained.

Momiji teased.

Lu Ban answered at once.
"Forget it. Don't be brave anymore. Amber was worried sick, and when she worries, I suffer too."
Momiji finished the apple, wiped her hands with a tissue, stood up, and pointed to the other side of the bed.
Lu Ban saw Amber lying face down on the other side of his bed. She seemed to have fallen asleep from exhaustion.
