The lights came up, but the cinema grew somewhat noisy.
"What kind of movie was that? What was it even about?"
"I have no idea what was going on. I didn't understand a thing!"
"I thought it was pretty touching. I almost cried halfway through."
"Whatever the case, the ending seemed all right."
"I hadn't had enough yet. Why did it end like that?"
"Do you think the director suffered some kind of psychological trauma? How else could he come up with a plot like that?"
"I feel like I could've made this movie too. If I did it, I'd be just as good."
"What a waste of ticket money. Next time, I'll check the reviews before buying a ticket."
"I thought it was going to be exciting, but I never expected the ending to turn out like this. I don't even know how to judge it."
"Does the director have any other works? I'm kind of interested."
The credits were still rolling, but the audience had already grown raucous, chattering about their impressions of the film.
He remained seated and did not get up at once.
As for the movie he had just watched, although there had been quite a few scenes he failed to understand, the way they had been presented, along with the actors' performances, had stirred something within him.
If a work could touch people's hearts, then it could be considered a basic success.
As a creator, that was what he believed.
The people beside him urged him to get up. They were a couple who seemed to be hurrying to their next gathering.
He courteously stepped aside, then followed the crowd out of the cinema, still mulling over the plot of the movie he had just watched.
After separating from his wife, he had often
