I have always believed that the only channel of communication between an author and their readers should be the work itself.
Everything an author has to say should be reflected in the work. It shouldn't be supplemented by explanations in scattered comments, standalone chapters dragging real life into the discussion, or casual conversations on social media outside the work.
That's why this afterword won't be very long either. It's just that all my other books have one, so I can't be the one to break tradition.
First of all, I'd like to thank all the readers who supported this book by subscribing, as well as all the bosses who rewarded, voted, and commented. Finally, I still haven't made up the two extra chapters owed to the patron saint. If I get the chance with my next book, I'll make them up. Next time for sure, next time for sure.
Secondly, as for this book, I've said pretty much everything that needed to be said. The cinema at the ending, including the homage to the original author, was already planned before I wrote the first chapter. If I really had to explain the book's central theme, I'd say it was a love letter to such a wondrous and mysterious mythological system, as well as to the films that brought me countless wonderful experiences.
Then, over the next month, I might occasionally update a few simple side stories. They'll be based on some ideas I had previously conceived, and will probably be short stories written from the perspectives of other Chosen of the Gods.
Finally, I already have a rough idea for my next book. It should be a modern urban story related to games, and I'm expecting to release it in November. That'll let me enjoy a National Day holiday without
