Trolls.
This is a race of intelligent beings even older than the Blood Elves, yet to this day, they stubbornly live on the Falaro Continent, occasionally causing trouble for humans.
Similar to the Blood Elves, trolls, with their cannibalistic tendencies, are also known for their cruelty. However, the former's cruelty is elegant, while the latter's is crude.
The first reason is the difference in appearance. Elves, regardless of their character, generally have appearances that conform to human aesthetics. Wearing less is called sexy, wearing more is called having aristocratic qualities. As for the ugly trolls, wearing less is called barbaric, and wearing more is called cumbersome and bizarre. No one likes them.
In addition, the trolls' methods are indeed cruder. They boil people in large pots and like to throw axes to kill people – this is their signature greeting.
So, at the same time as the hunter captain fell, the mercenaries immediately realized they were in big trouble.
Sure enough, they then saw a group of bare-chested, green-skinned trolls charging out of the woods, howling. There were more than a dozen of them, holding either axes or spears, and one of them was even holding a staff, probably a witch doctor among the trolls.
"Damn it, where did these Forest Trolls come from?"
"They may have come in from other entrances to the Tidal Lands... Let's go find those hunters from before, they might help us!"
At low levels, physically strong trolls are usually more powerful than humans. Facing more than a dozen trolls, the mercenaries were sure they were no match.
Therefore, without anyone suggesting it, they ran towards the hunters in unison.
Gagnor could only follow.
Soon they saw the hunters again.
"For Mosa's sake, help us!" a mercenary shouted.
"Mosa?" The leading hunter on the other side not only showed no recognition upon hearing this name, but instead revealed contempt and hatred.
"Go to hell, you heretics who believe in false gods!" They then launched an attack on the Gray Eagle Mercenaries. "Yemen is supreme!"
Thus, under the influence of religion, two groups of humans began to slaughter each other.
The trolls who had chased after them were stunned for a moment, looking at each other for two seconds.
"Oowa oowa oowa?"
"Oowa oowa."
They were speaking a language that Gagnor didn't understand, but judging from the expressions on their faces, the meaning was not difficult to guess.
Why did the humans suddenly start killing each other?
No idea.
Gagnor didn't know either.
He thought these hunters would turn around and run, but he didn't expect that their choice would be to join the trolls in besieging the Mosa followers.
It seems he had underestimated the religious fanaticism of the humans on Falaro...
The Forest Trolls' confusion didn't last long, and they immediately joined the battle, wisely choosing not to attack the Yemen followers, but focusing on attacking the Mosa followers.
Under the joint attack of the trolls and the Yemen followers, the Gray Eagle Mercenary squad had no power to fight back, and lost two more people in just one exchange.
Gagnor was almost hit by a flying axe.
Fortunately, John blocked it with his shield in time, and the axe grazed past him.
It looked like they were about to be wiped out.
Gagnor immediately took out an Inferior Wind Orb and said to John, "Run!"
After saying that, he threw the Inferior Wind Orb hard into the center of the battle.
The orb hit the ground.
"Boom—"
Along with the explosion of the Wind Orb, there was a loud bang, and a fierce gust of wind suddenly burst out on the field.
The sudden gust of wind caught everyone who was fighting off guard, and they were all knocked to the ground, except for the two tallest and strongest trolls who steadied themselves.
Gagnor himself also staggered.
He wanted to help John up, but the two trolls had already set their sights on him.
Helpless, he had to throw two Swift Breezes on John, and then attached two Swift Breezes to himself.
Good luck!
Then Gagnor turned and ran.
John got up from the ground, looked around, hesitated, and ran in the other direction.
In the process of running, he was surprised to find that his speed was much faster than usual for some reason. But before he could figure out the reason, the feeling of being light as a swallow disappeared.
The maximum control distance of Swift Breeze is only four hundred meters.
When the distance between John and Gagnor exceeded four hundred meters, Swift Breeze could no longer help him.
Feeling that the two Swift Breezes on John had lost control, Gagnor immediately generated two more Swift Breezes and added them to himself.
With the blessing of four Swift Breezes, his speed further increased.
The two trolls behind him were about to catch up, but they watched helplessly as Gagnor's speed increased, running farther and farther away in their sight.
"Oowa oowa!" The two trolls were furious.
If they were humans, this chase might already be over.
But a major characteristic of Trolls is their superior stamina and recovery. They believed that even if they couldn't catch up to Gagnor for a while, they could wear this human down!
So they relentlessly continued to chase Gagnor.
Things quickly developed in the direction the Trolls had hoped.
As time passed, Gagnor's speed was gradually hampered by physical fatigue, slowing him down more and more.
Meanwhile, the two Trolls seemed tireless, maintaining the same speed throughout the chase.
Gagnor cursed inwardly.
Fortunately, there was still Swift Breeze. Although he became very tired and even in pain later on, and his pace was reduced to a jog, with the help of the four wisps of Swift Breeze, his speed was still about the same as the two Trolls, maintaining a distance of a few hundred meters.
The two sides ran like this, one fleeing and the other chasing, for several hours.
The two Trolls looked like they could still keep going.
But Gagnor was really starting to run out of steam.
Various negative emotions began to occupy his mind, and even the thought of giving up occasionally flashed through.
Damn it, should I have even come to this godforsaken place?
"Huff... huff..."
Gagnor's breathing was already extremely heavy, even turning hoarse, but when he looked back, the two Trolls still looked energetic.
He felt a little desperate.
But just then, a turning point came into view.
Ahead was a cliff.
Gagnor stopped, panting heavily, and looked at the cliff.
A dozen meters...
Not too bad, not too high.
Most people would probably die from the fall, but Gagnor had Swift Breeze, so dying was out of the question. As for whether he would be injured, or to what extent, he would just have to leave it to fate.
He glanced back at the two Trolls getting closer and closer, gritted his teeth, and jumped off the cliff.
He placed the four wisps of Swift Breeze under him, doing his best to slow down his descent while adjusting his posture.
With a splash, he landed.
Gagnor crashed to the ground below. Although his landing looked a bit awkward, he was basically unharmed except for a few scratches.
He got up from the ground.
He patted the dust off his body, panting, and looked up at the cliff above.
"Oowa oowa oowa!" The two Trolls didn't dare to come down and could only shout in impotent rage.
Gagnor flipped them the bird and strode away.
