Gagnor first found a place to rest for a while, while also tending to his wounds.
As he recovered from his rapid breathing, his mood gradually sank.
Having escaped the Trolls' pursuit, the question now was, how could he leave the Tidal Lands as quickly as possible?
First, he was certain that he had no chance of leaving before the moon rose tonight, unless he could run even faster than he had when escaping just now for several more hours.
Gagnor doubted he had that ability.
And even if he did, he wasn't sure he could find his way.
During the past few hours of fleeing, he hadn't had time to consider direction or route. Now, upon careful reflection, he could only roughly judge that he had run closer to the center of the Tidal Lands.
To return the way he came, he would likely need to do some exploring, or even get lost.
He could also choose to leave the Tidal Lands from another direction, but doing so would likely result in him entering Troll territory the moment he stepped out of the Tidal Lands.
It might even lead him into the Kiso Mountains.
If a level two human managed to return to South Sea Town alone from the Kiso Mountains, Gagnor could spend the rest of his life supporting himself by bragging.
So, all things considered, the first thing Gagnor needed to do was pray—pray that the level restriction of the Serpent's Cut Line wouldn't be lowered in a few hours.
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but sigh.
This feeling of being at the mercy of fate was really terrible.
The only good news was that, based on past common occurrences, this Tidal Lands shouldn't close so quickly, and he might still have a little over a day left.
In this day or so, he had to find his way back and leave the Tidal Lands.
After a moment's rest, Gagnor took out a Pain Relief Potion, tilted his head back, and drank it. The strange taste made him frown slightly.
This was his first time using a Pain Relief Potion.
A few scrapes weren't worth it, of course, but his legs, after running for several hours, had begun to produce an increasingly obvious stinging sensation, and Gagnor had no choice but to do this in order to walk normally.
More importantly, as one of the main products of Nightshade Nettle leaves, Pain Relief Potion also had a strong refreshing function. Many addicts in the slums of South Sea Town regarded this as the sole meaning of their lives.
The potion took effect quickly, and pain, fatigue, and drowsiness were swept away. Gagnor became energetic, even a little excited.
He stood up from the ground and looked around.
Compared to the places he had passed before, this was a relatively independent area, seemingly completely surrounded by cliffs. He didn't know if there was a way out, and if not, he might need to climb up the cliffs.
Gagnor began to look for a way out of this area.
During the search, an inconspicuous bone-white color caught his attention.
He walked closer and saw a skull, mostly buried in the soil. This wasn't uncommon in the Tidal Lands; he had encountered it once before when he was in a team.
The dim color seemed to indicate that the owner of the skull had died many years ago.
Out of curiosity, Gagnor reached out and touched the skull, and some information flooded into his mind.
[Race: Falaro Blood Elf] [Level: Unknown] [Status: Deceased]
Gagnor was taken aback.
The level was actually unknown?
This was the first time he had encountered this situation.
The only two possible explanations were either that the skeleton was too old, or that its level before death far exceeded his own.
After some consideration, he felt that the latter was more likely. After all, if it was because the age was too long, why could the race information still be obtained normally?
Thinking of this, Gagnor suddenly became a little excited—could there be anything good on a being of such a high level?
Under normal circumstances, it was unlikely, after all, after so many years, even if there was anything good, it would probably have been stripped away long ago.
But not many people had apparently reached this area, so maybe there really was something.
He immediately took out his medicine hoe and began to dig.
Using a medicine hoe to dig up a corpse was very inconvenient, but he had no better tool other than this.
About twenty minutes later, Gagnor dug the upper body of the corpse out of the soil, and then he saw a gold ring on a finger bone!
The ring's design was unremarkable, and it looked like ordinary gold jewelry.
Despite this, Gagnor's eyes lit up.
After all, even if it was just ordinary gold jewelry, it would be a good income for a worker like him.
He reached out and touched the ring.
[Item: Spatial Magic Ring] [Level: Unknown]
Spatial Magic Ring!
Gagnor's eyes widened, filled with incredible surprise, the frustration from his unfortunate encounter hours ago completely vanishing.
This was a Spatial Magic Ring, and a high-level one at that!
With this, he'd never have to carry around luggage, toolkits, quivers, and other miscellaneous items again!
Or he could sell it; it would definitely be worth more than Everlasting Moss.
It was just a pity that using a Spatial Magic Ring required some knowledge of magic, which Gagnor obviously lacked, so he couldn't use it for the time being.
It seemed he would have to find a way to learn some magic after returning.
Gagnor thought excitedly as he took off the ring.
Due to the age of the corpse, he pulled off a Blood Elf finger bone along with it with a little force.
This did not arouse any guilt in him.
Having learned about the history of the Blood Elves, Gagnor knew very well how the Blood Elves treated corpses. Some Blood Elves even had a tradition of "cannibalistic burial." In comparison, pulling off a finger bone was really too trivial.
After putting away the ring, Gagnor continued his efforts and dug out the Blood Elf corpse completely.
However, no matter how he searched, he couldn't see any color other than white. It seemed that all the Blood Elf's belongings, except for the ring and bones, had vanished under the erosion of time.
Gagnor was slightly regretful and prepared to give up.
But at this moment, his gaze slightly froze, and then he picked up a white stick-like object that looked very similar to a bone from the scattered pile of bones.
[Item: Unknown] [Level: Unknown]
This wasn't a bone!
No matter what it was, Gagnor obviously didn't plan to throw it away, so he put it away as well.
Finally, he inexplicably picked up a bone and stowed it away before reburying the Blood Elf's corpse back into the soil, as a sign of respect.
With a pleasant mood, Gagnor continued to look for a way out.
About an hour later, he found a hidden path. Following this path up, and after going around in a circle, he returned to the place where he had jumped down before.
Afterwards, Gagnor tried to return to the place where he encountered the Trolls. This was not easy. In fact, he got lost several times before finally finding the correct route.
This cost him more than ten hours, which forced him to continue his return journey at a jog, just to reach the Serpent's Cut Line as soon as possible.
"Mosa will punish you!" An angry female voice made Gagnor slow down.
He hid behind a tree and carefully poked his head out to observe.
He saw three Bloodsail Pirates closing in on a short-haired girl about a hundred meters away on a riverbank. The girl was pale and retreating while holding a dagger.
