Under Kilian, the Moon-Ring Wizard's complicated gaze, Wizard Edgar sat in the crown of a Life Ancient Tree that was walking toward them. He wore a white wizard's robe with a leaf pattern embroidered in green thread on the collar.
Locke looked at Edgar in surprise. Edgar's original Life Ancient Tree had supposedly been transformed into the Tree of Perfection. That meant the Star-Ring Level Life Ancient Tree he was riding now was his second.
Only now did Locke realize how astonishing it had been for Edgar to revive the long-lost Life Ancient Tree back in the First-Ring Stage. Even a Star-Ring Wizard might spend fifty years on such a task and achieve nothing. Edgar must have encountered an extraordinary opportunity back in the Wizard Land where he was born.
Then again, what wizard genius who had come this far hadn't had an extraordinary stroke of fortune?
Edgar probably had a trove containing many Life Ancient Tree seeds. It might be an ancient magical artifact, or perhaps an entire plane. After all, near the end of the great exploration of the planes, Magic Winter on the Heaven River had severed the Wizarding World's links to its many colonial worlds. The Wizarding World of that era had, in the end, reaped the consequences of all the madness it had committed.
No one knew how long Magic Winter had lasted.
After that great snowfall, the Pureblood Order had arisen, formed to take revenge on mixed-blood wizards.
Wizard Edgar jumped down from the crown of the Life Ancient Tree. A field of magic surrounded it, and as it approached, everyone felt as though they had gained some special ability.
Many knotted red tassels hung from its branches. A closer look, though, revealed that they were flower buds growing on the tree.
