On the adventurers' carriage, Mage Helen was enthusiastically chatting with Locke and the others.
Alicia used the magic item on her right hand, the [Charm Bracelet]. It was one of the defensive magic items she had purchased after the danger aboard the wizard airship.
It bore a First Ring enhanced Human Charm from the Enchantment School.
The spell could be used in battle to forcibly control the mind of an intelligent humanoid creature for an hour.
Or it could mentally confuse humanoid creatures within its range, interfering with their thoughts and preventing them from doubting the truth of what she said.
That way, no matter what Locke and Alicia asked them, these people would not find it strange. Instead, they would tell their saviors everything they knew.
Locke learned the identities of the five adventurers and this world's power system. All five were adventurers and members of a relatively experienced Adventurer Association team.
This world had professions such as Thieves, mages, assassins, hunters, warriors, and knights, but in truth, those adventurer professions were all created through magical items or bloodline modifications.
Therefore, this world had only one true core of power: mages.
Mage Helen did not realize that the two supposedly high-ranking mages in her mind were asking such basic questions. Instead, she eagerly introduced the system to her two saviors. "We mages have a total of ten ranks: Apprentice Mage, Lower Mage, Middle Mage, Upper Mage, Grand Mage, Mage King,
Mage Emperor, Mage Sovereign, Mage Venerable, Mage Saint, and finally, Mage God!"
Locke was speechless. He had no idea why the magical ranks of this world had such embarrassingly childish names.
Even Alicia frowned. She found those power classifications rather... Alicia muttered softly, "Who came up with these names? They're so blunt. There's no depth to them at all."
