In the poison pool, vast amounts of venom surged toward Locke. More and more streams flowed into the Poison Lake; within half a day, their number grew from over a hundred to nearly a thousand.
At the center of the Poison Lake, waterspouts appeared one after another, raising dozens of columns. The venom within them took the shape of little spiders, gathering and scattering before breaking apart and falling back into the lake.
Just then, the lake's surface exploded. A wave of warped gravity descended, blasting the water apart.
On the shore, several Spiderfolk women paled at the sight. The one who had first shown Locke kindness said, "Why is the reaction so strong? According to our people's records, even when a wizard enters the Poison Lake, the disturbance shouldn't be anywhere near this large."
Another Spiderfolk woman said, "Well... our records also say it has something to do with the wizard's potential. The greater the potential of a wizard's bloodline, the greater the disturbance in the Poison Body Pool. The five Poison Body Pools are connected, and each poison well has an underground waterway linking it to the others."
"The entire valley is one enormous poison furnace. Countless deadly toxins gather here to strengthen a wizard's bloodline."
"If a wizard's bloodline has extraordinary potential, it could trigger a disturbance on a massive scale."
Caution crept into the Spiderfolk woman's expression. "We were right about this wizard. He really is powerful. I only hope the deal we discussed with him succeeds. We don't have much to bargain with..."
Beneath the Poison Lake, Locke was encased in an eggshell formed of toxins. The Orkney Giant Bear bloodline within him had awakened and evolved. A memory hidden in his Bloodline Essence surfaced in his mind.
Giant Bear King Orkney.
