Silent Plane.
Lead-gray clouds sagged like rotten cotton batting, and the last trace of daylight was drowned beneath the torrential rain. From every direction came the sounds of cities being destroyed by the floods.
Even the canopy of the Mind Network swayed in the storm.
Factories, furnaces, and industrial cities were all being destroyed.
Amid the apocalypse, everything belonging to the civilization of the Silent Plane seemed so fragile and vulnerable. When the world was destroyed, even those cities could be swept away as easily as duckweed.
But the strangest thing was that eerie blue lights appeared on the retinas of the people in those cities. Faced with the apocalypse, most of them actually did not flee. Instead, they seemed to have accepted it.
The few who had not been infected by the Disc Creatures were mostly children and teenagers. The youths stared in terror at the people who had stopped resisting, yet had no idea what to do.
All around them was torrential rain.
The cold rain continued to fall, just like the rain that had never stopped for a hundred thousand years.
At that moment, on the other side of the Silent Plane.
Amid the downpour, Edgar's Saint Incarnation found Locke and spoke directly. "It's almost over. Locke, aren't you curious why this plane must be destroyed? Why could that Disc Creature descend so quickly?"
"Why was the Silent Witch unable to save this plane a thousand years ago?"
Wizard Edgar spoke. "I have a proposal, though I don't know whether I should make it. Let's work together."
Locke said, "All right."
