Locke had long maintained a private workstation in the Truth Institute's public laboratory.
He sat there now, driving one Second Chirping Cicada Spirit Macro into another. The two collided and locked together.
The two Spirit Macros spun in his hands. At the moment their power peaked, they suddenly flew apart, shattering into fragments.
"My current spirit knowledge still isn't quite enough."
Locke brushed away the fragments with his palm and picked out a barely intact, usable half of a Two-Cicada Spirit Macro.
"But if I collect fragments like this twice more, I can synthesize them into a truly complete, usable Second Chirping Cicada fragment. Then I can try converting it into a ritual gesture and brew the Doppelgänger Potion."
"My talent for potions currently falls short of my talent for archaeology and breeding science."
His archaeology abilities had improved beyond recognition after he obtained the potion key from the false tomb and acquired twenty pieces of historical dynamism.
"But if I spend some time continually producing Spirit Macro fragments, I should still be able to put together two suitable Two-Cicada Spirit Macros with my current spirit knowledge."
Locke considered it. "This will take some patience, along with gradually improving my Spirit Macros in the process."
Locke did not begin immediately. After all, he had already used up nearly all his spirit knowledge for the day.
It would be troublesome if he exhausted himself and something unexpected happened to his main body.
He needed to sit where he was and recover, then drink some potions that accelerated his recovery of energy before proceeding.
Locke calculated the time required. With the Synthesis Cube and his current spirit knowledge, he would need only six months to synthesize the Two-Cicada Spirit Macros required for brewing the Doppelgänger Potion
