Golden Crown Mountain consists of one large peak and three smaller peaks. It is a cluster of volcanoes, both dormant and active, whose magma chambers release subterranean Magic Tide Concentration Gradients that greatly raise the surrounding magic density. 522 523

The main peak appears to stand directly beneath the sun, which forms a golden halo behind its summit. Its geothermal fire connects with the sun’s fire, creating a pillar of flame visible through Spiritual Vision and converting both forces into Magic Power that nourishes the surrounding ecosystem. 523

• The mountain is covered by a premier Magic Plant forest, where First Ring plants are common and Second Ring plants grow alongside deeper, more dangerous specimens. 523

Golden Crown Mountain’s Breeders cultivate Magic Plants in nearly every available environment rather than relying solely on soil fields. 523

The Great Red Mountain Banyans nourish their canopy fields by absorbing nutrients through their roots and secreting them through their branches. Combined with the mountain’s conversion of Heavenly Fire and Underworld Fire into Life Energy, this environment allows First Ring Magic Plants to be cultivated densely in rows rather than requiring the large separation customary elsewhere. 532

Sky Garden and Sky-Filling Battle Tree

The Sky Garden Project was approved under Witch Catherine’s leadership after the Demon World War associated with the Sports Festival. Its proposed functions included creating additional aerial Magic Fields, increasing sunlight utilization, supporting otherwise impractical experiments, and serving as an oversized weather weapon in external wars. 627

The Sky-Filling Battle Tree, also called the Tree of Life, is closely tied to Golden Crown Mountain’s founding. The Golden Dragon Wizard planted it, and generations of sheltered Alarites lived beneath it. Its dimension is always higher than that of the region in which it grows, a property formerly used to construct a virtual laboratory that closely resembled a real environment. 1015 1016 1018

Following White Cardamom Farm’s destruction, the tree took root in the Sky Garden and grew beyond its previous limits. Witch Catherine announced that the Sky Garden would become the new Key Laboratory. 1018

History

Founding and the Pureblood Era

Golden Crown Mountain originated as a fortress for alien wizards persecuted by pureblood human wizards during the Pureblood Era. Its founders included wizards with True Dragon bloodlines and ordinary wizard allies. 547 686

According to Witch Catherine, the Sky-Filling Battle Tree guided the Golden Dragon Wizard through a prophecy to build a mountain where people would remain united. The Golden Dragon Wizard then joined forces with the era’s foremost Force Wizard and Weather Wizard to establish Golden Crown Mountain. 1016

Its original three-chief fortress structure survives in the academy’s three-dean system:

The fortress was built to survive even if the wider Wizard Civilization attempted to destroy it. Its internal agricultural systems were designed to maintain food self-sufficiency during a total siege. 916 927

Golden Crown Mountain repeatedly fought the Pureblood Order while sheltering persecuted groups. The Alarites’ account attributes 3,761 large and small conflicts to the Golden Dragon Wizard’s decision to protect their people. The Moromota Family likewise preserves the history of an ancestor who joined the mountain after persecution by the Order. 1014 1015

The institution continues to invoke this founding obligation to protect minorities. During the Demon Dragon Wizard conflict, its defenders affirm that the protection offered in the Pureblood Era remains worth maintaining even at the risk of opposing the wider world. 952

Agricultural Institution

Since the Age of Enlightenment, Golden Crown Mountain has developed into a major center of high-value Breeding Studies and magical agriculture. It produces large quantities of magical grain, supplies the Cloud Marsh, and is a key partner of the Witch Kitchen Shop Alliance. 686

Its agricultural philosophy emphasizes food security: Golden Crown Mountain considers an abundant food supply essential to preventing shortages across the Wizarding World. It also helped establish the “no-waste” principle and serves as a key base of the Wizarding World Agricultural Management Committee. 686

The behind-the-scenes owner of the Witch Kitchen Shop Alliance is a Golden Crown Mountain graduate. Together with Luxu Bridge, the institution is counted among Cloud Marsh Wetland’s seven top academies. 686

Organization and Factions

Witch Catherine describes the institution’s full name as the Golden Crown Mountain Dragon Blood Society. Its invitation to Locke was based chiefly on his Immortal Dragon Scale and Dragon bloodline potential rather than his Cloud Marsh Cup victory. 547

• Dragon Blood Society — Originally limited to True Dragon bloodline holders; its standard was later lowered to include those with sufficiently high-ranking Dragon bloodlines. Its name is magically protected from outsiders, and admission also requires passing a test. Most Academic Committee members belong to the society. 547
• Deacon Inspection Group — The domain of ordinary wizards outside the Dragon Blood Wizards. It is formed by the heads of important laboratories and maintains recruitment through mentor-student relationships; Wizard Feodor belongs to this faction. 517 547
• Senate / Elder Council — Connected to descendants of ordinary founding wizards and surviving founders; the Elder Council also preserves Force School inheritances and historical defenses. It is the academy’s largest governing faction and manages finances and regulations. 517 547 951

Governance and Academic Policy

The thirty-seven gardens are governed through organizations within the Elder Council, Academic Committee, and Deacon Inspection Group. An internal convention prohibits interference with the interests of Throne-level wizards and above; disputes involving them are instead settled through other means, including competitions. Earlier conflict involving Throne Wizards contributed to the separation of Luxu Bridge and Golden Crown Mountain. 517 593

The factions disagree over institutional development. The Deacon Inspection Group favors rapid results and cooperation with major Shop Alliances, while the Elder Council and Academic Committee initially oppose that shift in favor of establishing an academic benchmark. The Elder Council later advocates greater investment in Force-Energy Studies and a multilateral strategy, opposed by the Academic Committee’s preference for deepening established research strengths. Golden Crown Mountain encourages interest-driven basic research rather than assuming in advance which discoveries will prove practical. Locke later interprets this teaching as an emphasis on genuine intellectual commitment over dependence on changing standards of fame, wealth, performance, or quotas. 532 1126

The academy’s influence extends throughout its district, but it is not the formal ruler of the other local wizard academies and does not collect taxes from them. Its annual Sports Festival brings surrounding organizations together, strengthens internal cohesion, and serves as an important instrument of political influence and competition. 576 604 697

Researchers, Training, and Service Obligations

Researchers receive academy badges shaped to resemble both dragons and mountain peaks, permitting entry and exit. Contractual benefits include accommodation meeting specified area and Magic Tide requirements, magically secured dormitories, and transportation. Outstanding apprentices may be sent to the Truth Institute for joint training and research assistance. 526 540

Institutional obligations constrain departure even for highly favored researchers. Witch Catherine explains that Locke’s recruitment through the Truth Institute makes leaving easier than for wizards who entered through teaching posts, but he must still train a sufficient number of wizard students to satisfy the relevant rules. She also directs him to complete his research projects and teaching duties while preparing to compete for the academy’s resources. 1148 1162

Twelve Peaches and Six Teas

The Twelve Peaches are among Golden Crown Mountain’s greatest Breeding Studies achievements. They are special products of inherited Great Magics and can assist wizards in developing and constructing their own Great Magics. 625 686

Other specialized agricultural inheritances include the Six Great Magic Rice. Cloud Rice, given to Locke by Heidegger, can replenish bloodline power and strengthen the body when eaten. 766 896

Dragon Bloodline Studies

Golden Crown Mountain is a renowned Dragon Wizard organization that accumulated numerous Dragon inheritances by sheltering Dragon-blooded outcasts during the Pureblood Era. 620 665

Its Dragon Blood Society recognizes Dragon-blooded wizards as members, with priority determined by the quality of their bloodline. Witch Mason, for example, qualifies through her Frost Dragon bloodline, while Locke’s Immortal Dragon Scale affords him higher standing. 547

• Holy Dragon Inheritance — Includes the spirituality of Cassiodorak and the favored Peach Arc Thorn Arrow magic. It provides benefits at stages below the Third Ring and is particularly powerful during the Second Ring, especially the Moon Ring stage. 620 928

Force and Wave Studies

Golden Crown Mountain is also the birthplace of Wave Studies. Its Elder Council preserves Force School traditions, including Supernatural Purgatory, a secret realm containing Killing-Intent Waves left behind by generations of defenders. 686 896 951

When Golden Crown Mountain faces invasion, the stored residual Magic Pressure of deceased Elder Council wizards can become a defensive combat force. 951

Its body-enhancement branch specializes in Wave-Flow Force Magic, which holds an authoritative position within the district. At the Sports Festival, its Wave Song demonstration temporarily transforms the audience’s spirituality into fluctuations, impressing even a visiting Sun-Ring Wizard; public access to Wave Studies remains limited. 593 602

Life Studies and Holy Peach Cultivation

Golden Crown Mountain has conducted extensive Life School research. Its Third-Ring Wizards identify traces of repeated reincarnations in the Crimson King’s spirituality and use that finding to support their hypothesis that the being is a wizard. 738

The academy possesses more Holy Peach Tree Magic Plants than any other institution researching the genus. When a newly cultivated Holy Peach enters ninety-eighth place in the representative-species rankings, three Golden Crown Mountain teams’ species fall one position, and the hundredth-ranked Red Radiance Holy Peach loses its representative qualification. The resulting disruption affects roughly one-third of the academy’s schools. 1203

Its Space Trade Station operates near the Near-Earth Void Orbit. During a pirate attack, its defenses are disabled and Captain Robert’s crew is trapped, while Bosi Ruda’s Holly Treant resists three Star-Ring attackers until Locke arrives. 1181
