Background / History

Pengfei hatched from an egg discovered by Mad Sword Sect disciple Liao Qing. Liao Qing used a Blood Sacrifice Method that cost thousands of lives outside Cold Maple City, forcing the egg to hatch prematurely and corrupting the newborn bird with murderous influence. Xia Wuji recognized that Pengfei was originally a Green Peng carrying a sliver of Golden Winged Great Peng bloodline, purified the impurities in his body, subdued him through the Myriad Beasts Heavenly Scripture, and named him Pengfei. Xia Wuji also imparted the Golden Radiance Divine Art, giving him a path to evolve beyond his original bloodline. 133 134

Immediately after accepting Xia Wuji as his master, Pengfei killed Liao Qing—the man responsible for his unnatural birth—at Xia Wuji's command, resolving the karma of his creation. 133 134

Pengfei later returned to the Secret Realm where his egg had rested. There, Xia Wuji discovered that Pengfei had already absorbed six petals of a Golden Spirit Flower before hatching, which explained the emergence of his Golden Winged Great Peng bloodline.
