Li Musheng carried Bai Xiaotang and his companions into Grand Profound City, then entered the Great Xuan Imperial Palace to search for a captive Daoist nun. After breaking through Mystery Palace and confronting its hidden forces, he learned it was a smokescreen and set out to find the Great Xuan Emperor directly.

• Li Musheng caught Bai Xiaotang after she stole a demonic essence, then traded instruction in his Sunflower Acupoint Hand for the Thief Saint’s movement art.
• Li Musheng’s group forced its way into Grand Profound City, where Han Meiyan warned him that the Great Xuan Court had laid a trap for the demon sects gathering for the demonic essence.
• Li Musheng left the inn at night and took Zhao Muning across the palace rooftops to Mystery Palace after she told him it might hold prisoners.
• Li Musheng subdued Black Moon Yin Elder, learned that recent captives were held underground, and sent the elder upstairs to search for Daoist Qingye’s senior sister.
• Black Moon Yin Elder endured the attacks of Mystery Palace’s upper-floor guardians with Li Musheng’s martial aura protecting him, while Li Musheng fought his way down to the ninth underground floor.

Li Musheng forced his way through the Great Xuan palace to find Daoist Qingyu and confront the Great Xuan Emperor, who had faked his death and was pursuing demonic power. The Emperor remained at large, while Li Musheng left with Qingyu and the demonic sects began searching for him and a missing Demon Origin.

• Li Musheng led the poisoned Mystery Palace prisoners out and abducted imperial consorts to draw the Great Xuan Emperor out of seclusion.
• Crown Prince Zhao Kuang joined Li Musheng in exchange for help finding Daoist Qingyu, then led him into the Earthvault Profound Hall and toward the Emperor’s hidden chambers.
• Li Musheng escaped the Earthvault Profound Hall, confronted the Emperor’s demonic creations, and discovered that Zhao Kuang’s father had planted traps and false figures.
• Zhao Kuang stabbed the apparent Emperor, but Li Musheng exposed the figure as a trick, and Daoist Qingyu revealed that the real Emperor had tried to seize her Longevity Scripture.
• Daoist Qingyu gave Li Musheng the Longevity Scripture and explained her demonic inheritance, while Li Musheng burned the Emperor’s demonic manuals and left the palace with her.

Li Musheng confronted the demon sects at Azure Profound Temple, absorbed the Sun-Moon Demon Empress, and claimed the Dream Clan’s treasure. He killed the Great Xuan Emperor and backed Zhao Muning’s succession before leaving Grand Profound City’s shaken survivors behind.

• Big Black Cat traded demon essence to representatives of the Seven Great Sects, but Wen Yue poisoned the inn before Li Musheng subdued her and secured payment.
• Wen Yue traded the ninth Demon Origin for the Demon Dao Patriarch’s cultivation arts while Zhao Kuang turned against his royal siblings and Grand Profound City fell into civil war.
• Wen Yue, Blood River Ancestor, the Ten Thousand Wraith Demon Sect Master, and the Sun-Moon Demon Empress opened the Demon Origin at Azure Profound Temple, where the Sun-Moon Demon Empress revealed herself as the Great Xuan Emperor.
• Li Musheng arrived at the temple and devoured the Sun-Moon Demon Empress, drained the fleeing demonic experts, and crippled Daoist Qingyu.
