Background

Tongtian was born from Pangu's Primordial Spirit alongside Laozi and Yuanshi Tianzun as one of the Three Pure Ones. He later travelled the Primordial World, founded the Intercepting Sect, and became known as the Master of the Heavens. 147

Following the Investiture of the Gods Calamity, Tongtian fell into shock and retained an elderly appearance. His contact with Wu Feng and the General Store restored his fighting spirit and returned him to his original form. 80

Although Pangu's Body Refining Technique was exceptionally compatible with his origin and could have offered a secure route to greater power, Tongtian refused it. He considered following Pangu's path incompatible with becoming an independent individual, instead resolving to create his own Sword Dao. 147 148
