Although the Sonic Blaster is a standard weapon unique to the Noise Marines, its core function is to utilize the destructive and disruptive power of sound waves to create chaos and inflict damage, a principle entirely different from the killing mechanisms of conventional weapons like Bolters. It focuses more on delivering a dual blow to the enemy's physiology and psychology through sound waves, causing tinnitus, dizziness, or even internal organ damage, rather than killing enemies with traditional physical projectiles or energy beams.
Their extremely unique combat methods also come with various distinct tactics and combat styles.
For instance, they can generate intense noise based on the environment to disrupt enemies and break their formations.
Just like what they did to the Crimson Angel Chapter members on the bridge earlier. It's a form of area-of-effect attack, but in close-quarters combat within confined spaces, while its power increases, it's also easy to harm allies. And it has a drawback: it requires a certain amount of space and a wind-up time.
Quan Tiehua's armor was already shattered in multiple places. The three Noise Marines revealed their wicked, insane faces from behind their helmets, wearing ferocious smiles.
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.
Just as the three Noise Marines were about to pull their triggers, gunfire erupted from behind them, and dense Bolter fire completely engulfed them.
Although the attack was sudden, their reaction speed was very fast. One Noise Marine, standing at the very front, immediately dropped into a roll and hid behind another Noise Marine, using him as a meat shield.
Quan Tiehua naturally saw this, but to evade the attack, he also immediately fell to the ground.
The barrage lasted only a few seconds before it stopped, followed by the sound of dense footsteps rapidly approaching.
Quan Tiehua lunged forward with a ferocious pounce, landing directly on top of the Noise Marine. Then, he thrust his dagger down sharply.
But the Noise Marine was clearly experienced. He tilted his head and shoved with his arm, deflecting the descending dagger, which instead stabbed into the steel floor.
What followed was a headbutt that sent Quan Tiehua reeling backward. This blow, combined with the earlier sonic attack, left him dizzy and disoriented.
The Noise Marine beneath him, seizing the opportunity, signaled for the Doom Siren, which had been poised behind him, to unleash a sonic attack.
Bang.
But before it could be executed, a Heavy Bolter round pierced its skull. Blood splattered everywhere, and the arm that had been raised fell limply to the ground.
These were the members of the Crimson Angel Chapter who had successfully broken through and arrived.
The brothers in the front, seeing the corpses around them and Quan Tiehua stumbling backward, wore expressions of shock. Eight Noise Marines had almost been wiped out by him alone.
Was this guy still a recruit?
Some of the newer recruits among the breakthrough force, who had only participated in a few missions, exchanged bewildered glances. It felt like they weren't from the same company.
Some even suspected if the Chapter Master had secretly given Quan Tiehua special training.
Regardless of their thoughts, they immediately stepped forward to support Quan Tiehua, who was about to collapse.
Then, the group began to withdraw rapidly. The Terminators providing cover from behind also retreated quickly after seeing this, leaving only the Chief Librarian to face the powerful Daemon.
The combat drug was quickly injected into Quan Tiehua's armor, and he regained consciousness moments later. He struggled to his feet and looked at his Chapter Master, Affos, beside him.
He was momentarily speechless. The Chapter was still withdrawing rapidly, but the Chapter Master was now critically wounded.
As he listened to the sounds of battle still erupting from the receding bridge, Quan Tiehua stopped. The people around him also stopped, looking at him with confusion.
"You all go quickly. I've planted melta bombs made from Meltaguns salvaged from boarding assault boats in the entire bridge and all the compartments below." Quan Tiehua quickly conveyed this message and then turned to head back towards the bridge.
But Chapter Master Affos grabbed his arm, saying, "You come with us. The Librarian is a Psyker; he can teleport back to the warship. You don't need to worry." His weak tone and the hand that wasn't holding on indicated his current fragility.
Quan Tiehua said nothing but snatched a Power Sword from the Apothecary beside him. "I know. But I want to avenge them."
Chapter Master Affos fell silent. He looked at Quan Tiehua, who was being repaired and treated by the Tech-Sergeant and Apothecary, and murmured, "I'm sorry. It was my command error."
As a Codex Astartes Space Marine, Quan Tiehua's body recovered quickly. After receiving the greatest battlefield repairs and treatment from the Tech-Sergeant and Apothecary, He stood up directly and looked at Chapter Master Affos. "It's not your fault. It's those maggots in the Imperium. They provided false intelligence." He paused for a moment, then added, "For the Emperor."
At these words, all the Astartes present immediately became serious and said in unison, "For the Emperor."
"For humanity, I will forever be loyal."
Then, he turned, picked up the Heavy Bolter that had been prepared, and rapidly advanced towards the bridge.
Meanwhile, the Chief Librarian, seeing that everyone had left, smiled with relief. When the breakthrough opportunity suddenly appeared, the Chapter Master had prepared to pull him along, but for the safety of the entire Chapter, he had smiled and lied, "As a Psyker, I can directly teleport back to the warship when necessary."
This statement was true, but... the Slaanesh Daemon in the Warp had caused a psychic riot. Even Grey Knights couldn't achieve precise teleportation, let alone the Chief Librarian of a declining Chapter.
"For the Emperor."
With that, he squeezed out the last of his psychic energy and poured it into his hammer, charging towards Daemon Serindal.
"Ignorant, weak mortal."
He swung a tentacle, but halfway through, the terrifying sound of Bolters erupted again.
Countless Kraken Armour-Piercing Bolter Rounds shot into the tentacle. Although the psychic shield blocked it in time, several consecutive rounds hit the same spot, piercing the shield and striking the vulnerable tentacle. Just a few Bolter rounds severed the tentacle in two.
Red, yellow, and milky white viscous fluid sprayed onto the ground around them.
"The Emperor. Is. Above..."
A furious roar erupted from Quan Tiehua's mouth. In an instant, he shattered Serindal's entire psychic shield, and Bolter rounds struck its body.
This also greatly surprised Serindal. He knew that previously, these Bolter rounds couldn't even penetrate his shield.
But with this kid, and after those words just now, their power had doubled. Furthermore, the Bolter rounds hitting him felt like they were burning and damaging his soul.
At this moment, in the Warp, the cold sun, for some unknown reason, seemed to exude an emotion called helplessness.
For some reason, the four words "The Emperor is Above" that the kid shouted felt incredibly awkward.
Dear brothers and sisters, what do you think... is there a possibility that this book won't get signed? I didn't expect anyone to invest in my book. So, a kind reminder.
