A long line of children stretched out across the park.
"Here's your kitty."
Standing at the front of the line, Sheldon handed a kitten to a waiting child. Then he took the twenty-dollar bill Amy passed him and gave it to the child holding the kitten. "Here are your twenty dollars."
"Next!"
Amy shouted from the side.
When the next child stepped forward, Sheldon repeated the process, handing over a cat with one hand and twenty dollars with the other.
It couldn't be helped.
During the period when his relationship with Amy had been formatted, he had acted as though he didn't care, but his actions proved how drawn he was to her. He had adopted dozens of cats because of it.
Once Mrs. Cooper, an old hand at fishing and hunting, made her move, Amy, the old Beast Tamer, naturally gave Sheldon another chance.
The two of them put aside their dispute over whether Theoretical Physics or neurobiology was superior and returned to being in a relationship.
That made all the adopted cats useless. Sheldon immediately found them annoying and gave them all away using this cat-for-money method.
