Who's More Professional Than Me?!
evening.
Adam drove Leonard back to the Hofstadter Family.
Hehe, hehe.
Leonard reached up and touched his cheek, lost in a daze, chuckling to himself from time to time.
Adam remained silent.
He had originally planned to help Leonard realize his dream today.
Unfortunately, even a high-ranking player can't carry a bronze-ranked player.
He used various tactics to subtly suggest that Paige should kiss Leonard, and Paige agreed and even kissed him.
To everyone's surprise, the cowardly Leonard turned his face away in fright, and Paige kissed him on the cheek.
He truly has the ability to 'dodge every single opportunity that comes his way.'
Fortunately, Leonard himself was satisfied.
After Adam figured out that the two Dr. Hofstadter experiments should be finished and packed up, he ended the drive and took Paige home. Leonard has been in this infatuated state ever since.
"Ha, you're back."
Leonard's father, Alfred, beamed with pride, his eyes filled with gratitude as he looked at Adam.
Clearly, Adam's unique understanding of Beverly gained through the storyline, combined with the methods of the genius Amy who had 'lured Sheldon into a trap for many years,' made his advice to Alfred very effective.
After the key point is revealed, Alfred only needs to learn from Sheldon's future wife, Amy, and take things one step at a time, and their marriage will definitely be fine.
You have to understand, Sheldon is much more difficult to deal with than Beverly. Even a duck like him, who could run away at any moment, was defeated by Amy's tactics, let alone Beverly, who has been married for many years and has three children.
Speaking of relationships, how many years have Amy and Sheldon been together, and how much intimate contact have they had?
Now let's look at Alfred and Beverly.
After Alfred's affair with the waitress led to their divorce, Beverly lost her temper and berated Alfred, constantly blaming the infidelity for the breakdown of their seemingly perfect marriage.
For the rational and indifferent Beverly, this was enough to demonstrate her feelings for Alfred.
Alfred, after his affair and divorce, showed no remorse whatsoever. On the contrary, he continued to provoke Beverly, which can be described as a deep love turning into intense hatred.
In his view, the real reason for the breakdown of the marriage was Beverly's indifference, disregard for his male dignity, and most importantly, her failure to have marital relations with him for seven or eight years.
Seven or eight years!
Many men can't even tolerate their wives being pregnant for eight months, let alone seven or eight years.
Alfred could endure this for so long; what else could it be but true love?
Now, he would definitely try every means to create various experiments to invite Beverly to participate, and after solving the most basic physiological needs, indifference and disregard for his dignity would be nothing at all.
As Leonard said when Beverly mentioned that he wanted to protect his dignity, "It's amazing, Mom, that you think I still have dignity to protect."
And from whom did Leonard inherit this personality trait?
it goes without saying.
Adam smiled and nodded in response.
Doing good deeds is indeed like "giving roses to others and having fragrance left on your own hands," and now he is filled with a sense of accomplishment and joy.
The only drawback is that even though Alfred is so grateful to Adam and surely considers Adam a good friend like Leonard, the system still doesn't give any prompts.
One plausible explanation is that Alfred wasn't popular enough and was just a supporting character. Another is that although he was a doctor and an anthropologist, like Ross's doctorate in archaeology, it didn't require genius-level intelligence to obtain.
Adam preferred the latter.
"Dad, what's wrong?"
Back home, Leonard dared not continue in his lecherous state. Seeing that Alfred's movements were somewhat stiff, he couldn't help but ask with concern.
"It's nothing, I just tripped and fell, and my butt hurts a little."
Alfred quickly explained.
Adam smiled knowingly.
Just then, Beverly walked over.
"Mother!"
Leonard cried out, "Dad hurt himself!"
He didn't fall and get injured.
Beverly said seriously, "It's just that when we were doing that, I hit him with a ping-pong paddle. I've already applied medicine and added a cushion to his chair. It's fine."
"Beverly!"
Alfred cried out in embarrassment and annoyance.
"What?!"
Leonard stared in disbelief. "Was I dreaming when I was six?"
When he was six years old, he went into his parents' room and saw a similar scene, which Alfred later described as a dream. Little did he know that it was actually true.
"Of course not."
Beverly made no attempt to hide it, saying, "Your father has a slight masochistic tendency, and I'm just going along with him. Is there a problem?"
"No."
Adam quickly tried to smooth things over, giving the embarrassed and angry Alfred a way out. "This kind of hobby is not uncommon. Many men even pay professionals to whip them. It's no big deal."
Whips are not uncommon, but what about ping-pong paddles?
Adam remarked. "City folks know how to have fun!"
"I'm the most professional."
Beverly said coldly and confidently, "I am a psychiatrist, and I understand this kind of slightly perverted psychological need very well. Moreover, I am a neurologist, and I have a very clear understanding of nerves and reactions. No one is more professional than me when it comes to the indescribable aspects of mild masochism!"
"Yes, yes!"
Alfred retorted angrily, "We all know you're the most professional, okay? Can we change the subject now?"
"Interesting."
Beverly adjusted her glasses, scrutinizing Alfred: "A fondness for begging and angry rejection, both appearing in the same situation..."
"Human nature is inherently complex."
Adam had to interrupt, saying, "By the way, Dr. Hofstadter, you're a neuroscientist. I have a friend who's studying at Harvard University and plans to apply to Harvard Medical School to become Neurosurgery. I wonder if I could borrow some neuroscience materials from you to familiarize myself with them in advance?"
"Neurosurgery?"
Beverly gave the same disdainful look as Sheldon looked down on Leonard's experimental physics. "But her goal is clear, and I appreciate that."
If she wants to achieve more, I suggest she study neuroscience and do original research. She could then apply to my graduate program, though her success will depend on her abilities.
"I will talk to her."
Adam laughed.
Should Juno study neuroscience under Beverly?
That sounds quite interesting.
However, Juno is probably unwilling. Compared to tedious research, Juno is more capable with her hands and prefers to do things herself...
Then it was time for dinner.
Beverly couldn't possibly cook dinner, and Alfred was injured, so they had to order takeout.
After finishing his meal, Adam prepared to leave. After all, he had experienced too many exciting things that day. Beverly was not only as straightforward as Sheldon, but more importantly, she was Leonard's mother.
Sheldon said that Adam and the others took the same words as a joke, but when Beverly said them, they were incredibly awkward.
However, before leaving, Adam accepted the invitation to visit Leonard's bedroom.
