Real Men Never Look Back
Observation Operating Room.
A few minutes ago.
Unlike Adam was completely independent, Leonard simply stayed on the sidelines to enjoy the show and, incidentally, exchanged glances with Dr. Burke was observing from afar.
The effeminate, chubby George O'Malley took a deep breath and, under the guidance of his Attending Physician. Dr. Burke, began the appendectomy.
This is the standard procedure.
The Attending Physician provides guidance, and the interns take action. If they can handle it, they proceed step by step; if they can't, they step aside.
To what extent it can be achieved depends entirely on how much autonomy the Attending Physician gives.
Leonard knew Adam's true level, so he completely let go and didn't even say a word of guidance.
Dr. Burke originally intended to Killing the chicken to scare the monkeys, so naturally he wasn't confident in the effeminate chubby boy's abilities.
"Use some force, human muscles are very hard, cut down."
When the effeminate chubby boy actually had his appendix removed, Dr. Burke's expression was very complicated.
According to the original script, he really wanted George to fail so he could give him a good scolding.
However, with Adam as a prime example, if George performs very poorly, it doesn't mean that his intern is not as good as Leonard's.
To go further, why did the hospital assign him such a poor intern, while giving Leonard the best intern? Did they have a problem with him?
He knew it wasn't true, but he couldn't stop people from making that connection.
This put him in a dilemma.
"... Be careful not to break your appendix."
Seeing that George's movements had become somewhat aggressive since the appendectomy, clearly due to overconfidence, Dr. Burke ultimately chose to give him a heads-up beforehand.
This kind of comparative surgery is absolutely unmatched by Leonard... by far.
There will be plenty of opportunities to Killing the chicken to scare the monkeys, so this one won't make a difference.
George heard this and nodded, but his movements didn't stop at all. What came to mind was Adam's smooth surgical technique and Meredith's support for Adam.
Adam can do it, so can George!
Meredith, now you see the manly side of George O'Malley!
Behind his mask, the effeminate, chubby George revealed a confident smile.
Then...
You've severed your appendix!
Dr. Burke's face darkened. His original intention to give George some pointers completely vanished. He was hopeless; he might as well kill him like a chicken and vent his anger.
You little brat, how dare you talk back in front of the patient!
"He's bleeding now, and his stool is leaking out. What are you going to do?"
"Uh, uh..."
The confident George was completely dumbfounded.
His technique is as smooth as Adam's, how could this be?
"Think about it!"
Dr. Burke advised, "You need to start suctioning and find those sutures before he loses too much blood."
He then said to the nurse, "Give him a clamp!"
"Blood pressure is dropping!"
The nurse reminded her.
George stood there, frozen in place.
This state is common among beginners; it is characterized by extreme tension and fear, resulting in a blank mind and a loss of control over the body.
"Cast your fears aside today and take action! What are you waiting for? Inhale!"
Dr. Burke still had professional ethics and fulfilled his final duty as a teacher by giving George one last chance, but unfortunately George was still confused.
The blood pressure monitor started alarming.
"Dr. Burke?"
The nurses began to issue warnings.
"Get out of here, you idiot!"
"Get him out of the way, don't get in my Operating Room!"
Dr. Burke pushed aside the stunned George and took over himself. He quickly stopped the bleeding, restored the blood pressure, and then stitched up the wound.
George, with his arms outstretched, glanced up at his colleagues watching from the second floor, his eyes filled with shame.
Before, he really thought he could do it...
He's 007!
"That's right, 007!"
What is 007?
"The Queen's super agent has a license to kill legally."
The crowd was buzzing with discussion.
Adam, who was delighted with the points he had gained from the system, looked up at the male intern who had spoken first, then got up and left without looking back, and thought to himself, "Could he be a formidable rival?"
Seeing him leave, Adam didn't think much of it and happily looked at the +0.001 Lifespan notification on the system panel.
Since discovering the systematic principle of "personally doing good deeds, gaining merit, and extending Lifespan" 11 years ago, and setting a life plan to embark on an ordinary yet extraordinary Path of a Great Doctor, this is the first splendid flower that has blossomed from 11 years of hard work.
+0.001 Lifespan may seem small, but this is just an appendectomy.
I spent half a year helping an elderly woman cross the road and massaging an elderly man's back, but I only earned +0.05 points. However, saving a naughty child who was crossing the road earned me +0.01 points.
When you do the math, a non-life-saving surgery only costs +0.001, which is incredibly cost-effective, since the actual time spent is less than half an hour.
Fifty surgeries, at a rate of ten surgeries a day, would only take five days, which is comparable to the busy work of the past six months.
Of course, there aren't that many surgeries for an intern. Assuming one surgery a day, and 300 working days a year, that's 1 * 300 * 0.001 = 0.3 years.
Currently, before life-saving major surgeries can be performed, the rate of Lifespan depletion has been reduced from 1 point per year to 0.7 points per year, significantly slowing down the rate of depletion and extending Lifespan.
With a little more effort and Leonard's stronger support, perhaps after a year as an intern, when Adam becomes a full-fledged resident, the increased Lifespan will outweigh the lost Lifespan, and Adam won't have to worry about dying young.
I just wonder how many Lifespan points I can gain by assisting?
But we'll know soon enough.
Because a heart bypass surgery was scheduled for Queen of Heaven, Leonard brought Adam along to participate.
According to Adam's speculation, this kind of participation can be considered as doing good deeds personally, and it should be worth some points, but it should not be as good as performing a minor surgery.
However, the advantage lies in accumulating little by little; you can never have too much Lifespan.
The first round of 48-hour shifts is still ongoing.
late at night.
Bianca opened her mouth wide, shook her head violently, and chased away the sleepiness.
"Take a nap if you're sleepy."
Adam laughed and said, "Doctors, especially resident doctors, can't keep going if they don't have the ability to catch up on sleep anytime, anywhere."
"Then how come you're so energetic?"
Bianca said enviously.
"I have good stamina."
Adam smiled modestly and said, "I can endure 48 hours without sleep."
"I can do that too. I'm going to get a coffee."
Bianca opened her mouth again.
Drink less coffee.
Adam, remembering how she would become so desperate and be ruined by Shameless because of cancer, couldn't help but remind her, "Take a nap. I'll keep an eye on things for you. I'll call you if there are any problems."
Drinking coffee is not related to getting cancer, but coffee contains caffeine, which is a central nervous system stimulant. Anything in excess is bad, let alone a nerve stimulant.
Just like when Sheldon met the Flash in his dream, the Flash told him why the Hulk was so powerful.
He consumed too many Steroids!
Why does Batman stay at night and fight people?
He's drunk!
Sheldon never drinks coffee, but after being swayed by the Flash, he drank a caffeinated energy drink and got incredibly high, unable to stop.
In the real world, spending too much money won't give you superpowers.
Excessive Steroids won't Hulk; instead, it will cause men to transform into women and women into men, somewhat like the Sunflower Manual.
Drinking too much alcohol won't turn you into Batman; it will give you cirrhosis and liver cancer.
"Thanks."
Bianca looked at Adam gratefully, her eyes glistening with tears, and suddenly she was no longer sleepy.
