The Manor Gates Will Always Be Open to You
"How so?"
Lily murmured, "Things shouldn't be like this..."
Adam gave a cold smile.
Is there even a question?
Don't ask!
"No, no! He's not good at all!"
As everyone remained silent, a suppressed shout of anger rang out from not far away.
But then Dr. Bailey. Miranda Bailey, nicknamed "The Nazi," yelled at a group of racers who were clearly from the Death Race for Babies.
"He inexplicably caused himself to fall at full speed onto the concrete road."
Seeing that the group remained unmoved and still grinning, Nazui Dr. Bailey became even angrier and pointed at them. "I know you guys have tattoos and holes, and you think you're Invulnerable Body. If you want to run into the concrete road and die, go ahead!"
Go ahead and do it!
But there are others who need to walk, others who need to drive, and they are struggling to save their lives on that road. Today, two of them died, and countless others were seriously or slightly injured, all because of people like you who have gone mad!
"Dr. Bailey."
Meredith saw that the Nazi's outburst was too much and, fearing that she would be complained about, quickly interrupted her.
Nazui Dr. Bailey, interrupted, realized what was happening, took a deep breath, gave them a cold look, and turned to leave.
Adam watched her departing figure, and the annoyance he felt earlier from being unjustly refused entry into the Operating Room dissipated.
In the entire hospital, she was the only one who directly confronted these race car drivers.
This courage earned Adam's respect.
Although her words had no effect whatsoever, the group remained completely unmoved.
"You should go see Barney."
Adam and Lily said goodbye and left.
He still had things to finish up.
In an Operating Room.
Many medical staff gathered there.
Dr. Burke performed the surgery, first removing the heart of the brain-dead patient, then the other organs. Each time an organ was removed, someone would come forward with a cryogenic container to take it away.
After the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, corneas, and several pieces of skin were removed, Dr. Burke left, leaving only Liz and the deceased with his chest exposed in the Operating Room.
"Liz?"
Cristina stopped and looked at Liz in surprise.
"I will sew it up for him, for the sake of his family."
Liz picked up the needle.
Cristina's mind flashed with the image of his wife and daughter crying, and she felt a pang of sadness, but she held onto it.
"I'll do it."
Adam pushed open the door and walked in. "My stitching is better."
Liz and Cristina exchanged a glance and silently made way for each other.
In this atmosphere, even someone as competitive as Cristina didn't have any thoughts of rivalry. They knew Adam's stitching skills were indeed much better than theirs.
Adam used all his strength to stitch the dead body back together, doing his best to achieve the best he could.
Mrs. Davidson.
After the surgery, Adam found the deceased's wife and daughter in the lobby and said gently, "If you want to see him, you are ready."
Mrs. Davidson forced a smile, pulled her youngest daughter to her feet, and followed Adam to the Operating Room.
When Mrs. Davidson saw her husband lying cold and silent on the operating table, she could no longer hold back, hugged her daughter, and burst into tears.
This morning, they kissed goodbye as they left, and their daughter even playfully teased her husband. Life is so happy and wonderful.
But just a few hours later, she received devastating news, and now they are separated by life and death.
She lost her beloved husband, her daughter lost her loving father, and her family still hadn't finished paying off their mortgage and car loan. She was just a housewife; how was she going to support her daughter in the future?
Even soon after, the bank might ruthlessly seize her house and car, leaving her homeless.
Although she acted out of kindness when her husband underwent organ transplantation, she may have also been trying to save on funeral expenses.
A funeral, including the cemetery, can easily cost tens of thousands of US dollars.
However, if organs are donated or cremated, a large amount of money will be saved.
The inability to afford to die may seem funny, but it is a real phenomenon.
However United States are Christ, and burial is a custom.
Mrs. Davidson ultimately couldn't bring herself to cremate her husband or donate his entire body, and decided to do everything she could to give him a proper funeral, no matter the cost.
Her youngest daughter also needed this funeral to say goodbye to her beloved father.
Thinking of this, she couldn't stop crying.
Adam stood there Jingjing.
He knew that at this moment, no amount of words would have any effect on them; only tears and sobbing could release their grief.
He had his assistant investigate the situation at the Davidson family, and he understood Mrs. Davidson's feelings even more.
Ring ring!
Just then, Mrs. Davidson's phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hello, is this Mrs. Davidson? This is the Ellis Charity Foundation. We are deeply saddened to learn of the unexpected passing of your husband."
"Thank you. Who are you looking for?"
"Our charity foundation has recipients every year, and we are aware of your family's situation."
Therefore, after careful consideration, we have decided to include your family in this year's donation program, providing $50,000 in charitable funds to help with your burial and living expenses for some time to come.
If you are interested in working, we can also provide training to help you find a suitable job...
Mrs. Davidson was stunned. She couldn't believe such good fortune had befallen her. She hugged her daughter tightly and asked hesitantly, "What... what are your conditions?"
"No, don't misunderstand. We are a legitimate charitable foundation. You can go to the city hall to investigate first and confirm our qualifications before deciding whether to accept our charitable donation. We will send someone to contact us in person."
"Thanks."
Mrs. Davidson, seeing that the man didn't seem to be a fraudster and that there were no additional unacceptable conditions, perhaps because her husband's spirit in heaven didn't want to see her and her daughter suffer and was asking God for a blessing, thanked him repeatedly with great emotion.
Most Westerners are believers, and faced with such a 'miracle and hope,' their grief was quickly dispelled.
With her husband enjoying such a prestigious position, they were certain he had gone to heaven, which was a great comfort to them.
"Congratulations."
Adam stood by, smiling and offering his congratulations.
"Thanks."
Mrs. Davidson held her daughter tightly, choking back tears.
Great sorrow and great joy are nothing more than this.
Adam smiled and left, walking to a secluded spot where he dialed a number. "Thank you, Caroline."
"I should be the one saying thank you."
On the other end of the phone, Caroline Ellis, the ex-girlfriend and female Captain America, laughed and said, "Thank you for your donation. With this money, we can help even more people."
"Hehe."
Thinking of Caroline's kindness and good deeds, Adam's day's depression dissipated.
It's more appropriate to help patients discreetly through Caroline, as she is professional, trustworthy, and completely reliable.
Adam only needs to send money.
"Come visit sometime?"
Caroline extended an invitation.
Is this appropriate?
Adam laughed.
Caroline paused, then said earnestly, "The gates of the Ellis Manor will always be open for you."
P. S.: Thank you to "Moment of Vicissitudes" for the donation!
