"Rebecca..."
After being reprimanded by Adam, Dr. Montgomery came to her senses as well. They really could not let the pregnant woman have her way at a time like this. Taking a deep breath, she went back in with Adam and began trying to persuade her.
Unfortunately, once things like trust and authority were lost, they could not be regained in a short time.
"I have a plan!"
Rebecca said stubbornly, "You can't be one hundred percent certain. As long as there's even a shred of hope, I'll follow my plan! I refuse to miss the full experience of giving birth just to make things easier for you or keep you out of legal trouble!"
"This isn't about convenience or avoiding legal disputes. It's a professional judgment..."
Adam helped persuade her.
"Who are you?"
The pregnant woman cut him off. "You're so young, at most you're an intern. Even Dr. Montgomery isn't certain. What right do you have to call it a professional judgment?"
No matter how Adam and Dr. Montgomery tried to persuade her afterward, she refused to listen. Once again, she screamed at them to get out.
"What do we do now?"
Dr. Montgomery instinctively looked at Adam.
"You decide."
Adam shrugged. "As doctors, we've done everything we should. Our consciences are clear. What she wants to do next is up to her. Like she said, we can't be one hundred percent certain either."
"That's all we can do."
Dr. Montgomery sighed.
Adam glanced at her, then turned and headed to the cafeteria.
The only reason he had reprimanded Dr. Montgomery earlier was because their relationship had become much closer than that of ordinary colleagues after the Poison Ivy Rash incident, the situation had been urgent, and there had been no one else around.
