With Adam repeatedly helping defuse potential disasters, the wedding finally proceeded smoothly, just as Lily and Marshall had hoped.
The exchanging of wedding rings and saying things like "I do" had already taken place in the chapel within this castle-like hotel.
Now it was time for the wedding banquet.
"Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to address them that way for the first time. Let us welcome Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Erickson and Lily Aldrin."
In the banquet hall, as the host gestured and finished speaking, the newlyweds walked in hand in hand.
Marshall wore his hat.
Faintly visible beneath the back of Lily's wedding dress were red words: "Exclusive to Marshall Erickson!"

Rather than taking her husband's surname after marriage like everyone else, she would rather keep her original surname, or have the two of them create a new surname together and use it as the symbol of their new family."
Both the East and the West had customs of women taking their husbands' surnames after marriage.
