"What?"

Lily stared wide-eyed, momentarily forgetting to use the opportunity to talk Marshall out of buying a house.

"There was a problem during the apartment's construction, which caused the entire floor to slope to a certain degree."

Janice said apologetically, "It's not easy to notice with the naked eye, but the angle of the slope is indeed significant. Whoever buys it will run into plenty of trouble living there later."

"No way?"

Marshall looked like his entire worldview had crumbled.

This had been his favorite apartment.

"Trust the professionals."

Adam smiled. "You're a law school student. What do you know about building structures? And you only took one look at it."

"But I really liked that apartment..."

Marshall said hesitantly.

"It's fine."

Adam comforted him. "You just like good apartments. That doesn't mean you only like this one. Have Janice show you a few more later. I'm sure you'll find others you like too."

"Right!"

Janice smiled. "Once I show you more places... and even if you really only like this style of decor, that's fine. Other apartments have this kind of decor too."

"All right, then."

Marshall was not so obsessed with that particular apartment that he had to have it. Besides, now that he knew it had a structural problem, he would not buy it no matter how much he liked it.

"Janice, you're a real estate agent. Tell us what we should watch out for when buying a house, so we can learn a little more."

Adam glanced at Janice. "I'm sure you can tell that we really don't know anything about this~"

Marshall immediately scratched his head and smiled.

He knew Adam said "we," but he was really talking about Marshall, who knew nothing yet had gotten carried away.
