Adam congratulated the Chief of Surgery with a smile. "I'm sure everyone else will be happy to hear the good news too."
"Thank you."
The Chief of Surgery thanked him.
Both for Adam's congratulations.
And for Adam's implication that he would spread the word for him.
It would prove that he had not gone back on his word, but had been repeatedly urged to stay by the Chairman of the Board.
And had no choice but to comply.

Lexie and Shorty had been sent by Adam to deliver the diagnostic results, cultivating the professional attitude of doctors who were emotionless but not indifferent.
Carter and George remained at Adam's side.
"Let's see if there are any good cases."
Adam smiled.
"Nothing for now."
The nurse smiled and handed Adam the case registration sheet.
Adam took it and scanned it. There really were no worthwhile cases.
"Carter, what are you still standing around for? Even the smallest case is still a case."
Adam handed the sheet back to the nurse. "Don't tell me your fundamentals have already met my standards. Get moving!"
"I'm on it."
Carter did not dare boast.
He immediately recalled Nurse Know-It-All repeatedly reminding him that Adam valued solid fundamentals above all else. He quickly agreed and went back to starting with minor cases.
"Vinnie, Dr. Carter is in your hands."
Adam looked at the nurse and smiled. "Whenever there's work, give it to him. Let him get more hands-on practice. Don't let him stand around in that white coat trying to look cool."
"Hehe, don't worry, Dr. Duncan."
Nurse Vinnie chuckled. "We all know what Dr. Duncan expects from Dr. Carter. We're all keeping an eye on him."
"Thank you. Thank everyone else for me too."
Adam thanked her.
George stood nearby,
