• Shade and the group found themselves underground in a Great Tomb corridor after the fog dispersed, and they sailed onward past disturbing murals.

• Shade caught Sister Belen and pulled Miss Violet’s soul back from the abyss, then grew into a giant to hold up the god’s skeletal hand.

The secret mission was complete, but Shade stayed to make sure the Witches returned safely, and a third vision began with the ancient corpse of a six-winged Angel.

• The God of Graves showed Shade how the Deathbringer Angel’s corpse had been divided and kept some of its bones, then asked whether Shade yearned for death; Shade refused and said he still yearned for the Moon and the night.
• Shade recovered in the shallows beneath the Underworld Moon and reunited with the large and small Hounds, who thanked him before their owner, an Ancient Witch, led them away.
• Shade found a Gold Bracelet in the coffin, and it bestowed a drop of the God of Graves’ divinity upon him.
