Shade sought clues to help Miss Feliana’s ritual and investigated the Mermaid’s Dream curse in Coldwater Port with Miss Princess. After the Fishbone Pirate Crew attacked their cruise ship, Shade found himself aboard the haunted vessel, where its cook told him how to reach the Captain and offered to bring Miss Princess to him.

• Shade traveled to the year 3002, met the three Witches in the Thousand Tree Forest, and gave Miss Feliana his Destiny Ring’s powers over time and space for the Radiance Doorway ritual.
• Shade learned the Witches still needed lost symbols, a forgotten ritual step, and a substitute for nature, then received the Door Key Miracle spell before returning to his own time.
• Shade searched Leimer’s Safe House, found notes connecting the Mermaid Statues to pirates, and reported a statue’s location to the Church.
• Shade met Nobela Princess, hired her as his guide, and learned that the Church was investigating the Mermaid’s Dream statues and the Sea Burial ritual.
• Shade won Mr. Darkness’s Omnipotent Currency in a Rhodes Cards wager, then joined Miss Princess in investigating relics and the mermaid curse.
• Shade and Miss Princess attended a masked banquet and auction at sea, but the Fishbone Pirate Crew attacked their cruise ship and black fog overwhelmed Shade.
• Shade awoke aboard the pirate ship, subdued an eyepatched man trapped in a photograph, and learned the Captain knew how to escape.
• Shade spoke with the ship’s cook, learned that the Captain was in the hold and Miss Princess was aboard in a separate version, and hesitated as the cook offered to bring her to him for another bowl of soup.

Shade escaped the Fishbone Pirate Ship with Miss Princess, then returned to Coldwater Port to investigate the escaped Ring Arcanists and the Chosen One prophecy. His visit to Mr. Jude’s mansion exposed the Scarlet Secret Society’s Sea Burial ritual, and Shade killed Jude before escaping with Leisha and the others.

• Shade and Miss Princess defeated the Captain’s challenges, and Shade awakened Gluttony to overwhelm the evil spirits and win freedom for the ship’s passengers.
• Shade learned how to lift Miss Princess’s Mermaid’s Song curse, gained the Greed Spirit Rune, and escaped the cruise ship with her before the Orthodox Church’s warships arrived.
• Shade learned that Miss Louisa and Leisha exchanged souls, then prepared to investigate the pirate incident and the Chosen One prophecy with Luvia’s help.
• Shade and Leisha visited Mr. Jude in Coldwater Port, where Shade heard an Echo warning that the Sea Burial ritual had begun.
• Shade and Professor Katia found evidence of the Scarlet Secret Society in Jude’s study, then escaped the locked mansion with Leisha and Mr. Scott.

Shade investigated a haunted painting, completed several commissions for Iluna, and learned more about the Chosen Ones and the Judge’s Court. He paid his second-year tuition and began pursuing the Guiding Light Hermitage, meeting its representative Sivor Rendall.

• Shade joined Leisha in Coldwater Port as she explained the Fishmen’s Sea Burial ritual and asked him to stay with her until it was stopped.
• Shade and Priest Augustus investigated Mister Freeman’s death, and Shade used Mia to break the link between the haunted painting and its victims before helping Mister Freeman’s soul move on.
• Iluna explained the Chosen Ones’ role in opening the Final Door and showed Shade how the Judge’s Court allowed balanced trades that could alter the present and future.
• Shade completed Iluna’s commissions by resolving Sal Hark’s unfinished business and warning Miss Swann’s watcher to leave her alone.
• Shade met spice merchant Alan Madison, who agreed to leave Saint Song Square, and learned that Doctor Schneider’s former group had suffered a deadly incident.
• Shade identified the Guiding Light Club as a doomsday organization, showed Professor Heink a mysterious symbol, and arranged a meeting with the Hermit Order.
• Shade submitted the Mercury Vial, earned enough credits to reach fifteen, paid his second-year tuition, and celebrated Dorothy’s coming detective-novel serialization.
• Shade met Sivor Rendall of the Guiding Light Hermitage at the White Swan Restaurant, where Sivor suggested that someone behind Shade was seeking the Hermitage.

Shade traced the Sea Burial ritual to a plan to awaken a giant Mermaid corpse and sink Coldwater Port, while protecting Leisha as the Scarlet Secret Society targeted her and Sivie Aurora. He headed toward Aurora Manor to investigate as powerful Arcanists arrived nearby.

• Shade recovered the Tree’s Kiss Spirit Rune after helping Miss Feliana, Blaine Olanode, and the Radiance Doorway complete the ritual in the ancient forest.
• Shade identified Daknis as the second Chosen One, reported him to the Church, and learned that he was cursed by the Mermaid’s Song.
• Shade obtained a Witch Detection badge and records about the Sea Burial ritual, then learned the rite drew power from an evil god’s relic and could affect the city on an Angel Level.
• Shade warned Leisha about the Sea Burial, gave her a Fishing Rod to suppress the curse, and stayed at Sophia Manor to protect her.
• Shade fought off a Scarlet Secret Society attacker at the manor and learned that the group planned a dawn sacrifice targeting Leisha and Sivie Aurora.
• Shade learned from Mr. Edmund that the Sea Burial would awaken a giant Mermaid corpse and unleash storms and tsunamis that could sink Coldwater Port.
