Shade studied the figure, even hoping that it might truly tell him something he did not know.

Since it was only an illusion, Shade did not attack. He simply watched it retreat into the woods. Then, in his field of vision, all the malicious red eyes within the misty forest surrounding the small campsite disappeared.
Looking again at his companions, they were all staring in different directions with different expressions, clearly still trapped in their illusions. Shade felt slightly bored, and then sensed the God's gaze falling upon him again.
He looked into that gaze. The travel-worn Traveler under the Moon still had a kind smile in his eyes. It had to be admitted that although the evil gods of this world each possessed their own strange and terrifying qualities, the Old Gods who had departed in the Fifth Epoch were genuinely easy to get along with:
"Traveler under the Moon, you seem a little disappointed?"
"Yes. While exploring the starting point of this brand-new journey of my life, I encountered some questions. Travelers should focus more on the present and future, but if I cannot understand my own starting point, then perhaps the road was wrong from the very beginning."
