Shade was actually more cautious than most people. He also knew that tomorrow's return to the island on Wednesday would most likely not go smoothly, so before setting out on Wednesday morning, he carefully prepared the items he needed to bring—naturally including important tools such as the Angel Feather.

After kissing Luvia goodbye at the basement door, with Little Mia in her arms, he walked toward the Hidden Wall.

Worried that they might not finish dealing with the island's affairs before evening, Shade set out quite early. Tobesk City was drizzling today, and Green Lake City was surprisingly raining as well.

The rain was not heavy, at least nowhere near as heavy as last week's, but it did not seem like a good omen either.

Little John in the garbage bin behind the inn had not "gone out" yet so early in the morning. Shade did not disturb him or the little dog as they rested, leaving behind some food before departing. When he went around to the inn's front entrance and saw that Paradise Island Pharmaceuticals' carriage had not arrived, he knew Megan had not come yet.

He pushed open the door and entered the inn, greeting Mr. Soren Green behind the counter. A few minutes later, the innkeeper personally brought over a tray and a newspaper, approaching Shade where he sat in his usual seat.

After placing the morning tea and newspaper before him, Mr. Green did not leave. Instead, he pulled over a chair and sat at the side of the table.

Shade was not surprised. He lifted his teacup for a sip, then unfolded the newspaper to read the news.

Mr. Soren Green hesitated before finally speaking:

"Aunt Megan will probably arrive in another twenty minutes."

Shade's eyes moved away from the photograph of Miss Galina
