"Oh, right... how did I fall asleep last night?"
When Shade groggily woke early Saturday morning, he realized he was curled up on the bed with a blanket carelessly draped over him.
He climbed out of bed, his head still foggy, and only then remembered that he had closed his eyes while leaning against the headboard last night, before somehow suddenly falling asleep:
"What happened? Yawn~"
After yawning, he finally felt his mind clear. Looking down at Little Mia beside him, he saw that the cat was not lying on the pillow as usual, but was instead unusually pressed against his side. A small corner of the blanket—probably one he had pulled over himself during the night when he got cold—was draped over the cat.
Little Mia was small to begin with, and that corner of the blanket covered half her body. But when Shade got up, a small part of her body was exposed from beneath it. She raised her head and meowed at him in displeasure, then stood as well, clearly realizing it was breakfast time again.
"It's really cold this morning. Did it rain last night?"
Muttering to himself, Shade looked out at the silver-white morning cityscape beyond the window. Only when he saw heavy snow dancing beneath a ray of morning sunlight did he understand the reason for the drop in temperature:
"So it snowed... Huh? Snow?"
Startled, he scooped up the cat and hurried to the window. He even pushed it open, worried that this was some illusion. Cold wind immediately poured into the warm bedroom, making Little Mia complain even more loudly.
He was still wearing the shirt he had slept in, so he immediately felt the low temperature in the wind. Shade reached his hand out the window, and snowflakes landed on his
