Pulling open the trapdoor, the group entered the underground level. After lighting the crystal stone lamps on the walls, which were triggered with spirit, they saw underground laboratories and storage rooms divided into upper and lower levels, each covering the same area as the mansion above.
"These crystal stone lamps are all fine things. Witches of the Fifth Epoch loved making this kind of lamp, but few people actively use them now."
Megan examined them with considerable appreciation, while Shade thought that if there were any spare lamps here, he could use them to decorate his new room on the third floor.
Thus, with hopes of finding even more good things, he began inventorying the items with the Witches, wanting to see exactly how much of an inheritance he had received. Since Megan and Audrey were still alive, although the diviner had said he would leave everything to Shade, Shade intended to share ownership with the twin Witches.
Of course, though they had begun full of anticipation, cataloguing books, materials, and assorted items was actually quite boring. There was simply too much, so Miss Benanis had to summon another group of girls to help. Only then did their efficiency improve significantly.
