"A handgun?"

It was a compact pocket pistol, smaller than any handgun-type relic Shade had seen so far, such as the Gun of Kindness and Faded Memories. The silver handgun could easily be concealed, and if its magazine did not possess spatial properties, it could hold only one bullet at a time.

A line of cursive lettering was engraved along the side of the barrel, its meaning easy to make out:

The Doctor placed the gun in Shade's palm:

"Though it is conceptually 'guaranteed to hit,' in practice it merely 'guarantees arrival.' If the bullet reaches the target's location but the target dodges, the bullet will not turn and pursue them."

Shade nodded to show that he understood:

"For example, someone wearing the Document Level Relic Foe of Arrows would not fear this relic either."

He used that example because he had seized that relic on Green Lake Central Island, and it was now
