"All right. The Night Watchman and Angel's Right Arm will stay behind. With Sister Devlin here, the Edge of Life and Death isn't dangerous to us."
After saying that, Shade looked apologetically at Sister Devlin beside him.
"You just arrived and haven't even had a chance to rest before setting out again. I'm terribly sorry."
The gray-haired nun shook her head slightly and said nothing more. Of course, they would not depart immediately. The Witches following Shade to the Edge of Life and Death also needed to prepare the relics and Spellcasting Materials they would carry.
Everyone hurried off to make preparations. Luvia helped Shade retrieve the relics he intended to bring, so Shade remained in the entrance hall to speak with Sister Devlin.
Little Unicorn, however, did not follow Emilia upstairs to fetch her sword. After the Witches scattered, she timidly approached Sister Devlin. The pure white little beast courageously sniffed at the hem of the nun's robes, then lifted her head slightly to observe the nun, while the nun's silver blindfold lowered to "look" at her.
The two "looked" at one another for a moment. Then the little beast seemed frightened and backed behind Shade. Though his body could not block her at all, she clearly still felt safe there.
After confirming that Sister Devlin was not coming after her, she turned and, using Shade as cover, raced up the stairs. Angelina hurried after her to keep her from charging about and running into someone.
Shade then looked towards the nun, who remained expressionless. What Little Unicorn had shown was certainly not "disgust," but "fear." Yet Shade could not understand why Little Liana was so afraid of the nun. In the Outlander's eyes, the nun was clearly a very gentle lady.
The Witches and Illustrious Miss did not
