Ever since two months ago, the residents of Moon Bay City had grown accustomed to major incidents occurring inside the city every week. Naturally, they did not suspect the police were lying about an "optical smoke leak," and so Moon Bay, shrouded in thick fog tonight, was frighteningly quiet.
The Countess had gone to investigate tonight's situation, but those remaining at the manor naturally would not sit idle. The Witches gathered together, and Shade explained his communication with the Guiding Light Hermitage that afternoon.
His original plan had been to produce twenty Dragon Scale Coins, then find information on the Seekers of Light Research Society and trade with Mr. Chekhov. But after hearing Shade's explanation, Miss Aurora directly made the decision for him:
"Two Keeper of Secrets Level relics capable of producing darkness effects, is that it? They're only Keeper of Secrets Level. The Council's collection should be able to produce two of them no matter what. When I report on the local situation to the Speaker tonight, I'll mention this matter. The others won't object."
That was not bad either, and it would save Shade those coins, which might still prove useful elsewhere. While waiting for news from Miss Belinder, Shade did something else as well: he had Tifa and the maids help him sort through the document bag Military Intelligence Section Six had sent over that afternoon.
"My Bloodkin friend obtained records of when the Dragon Devouring Order conducted large-scale goods transactions locally. Based on those records, I checked account transactions around the corresponding dates and finally narrowed it down to thirteen suspicious accounts. That's still too many, and Military Intelligence Section Six doesn't know what exactly I'm investigating. We need to narrow them down further based on the transaction information."
"No problem. The young ladies here are
