Iluna stood beside Shade and introduced it. This weapon was indeed famous far and wide:
"But unlike the Night Watchman, which is essentially a Ceremonial Sword, Pale Justice is, by its nature, a proper close-combat cold weapon. You should all know this sword's powers: it protects its wielder from nearly all abnormal conditions, enhances positive statuses, and boosts the output of energies such as the Sun and light."
"I remember its negative traits: depending on the wielder's character, the sword displays a different weight. For evildoers, the instant they take hold of it, it drains away their flesh and spirit. And while wielding it, they absolutely cannot do anything that betrays justice. Also, nearly all of this sword's recorded long-term wielders eventually made sacrifices. How did The Church let you use this sword?"
Shade asked in confusion. Seeing that none of the ladies beside him wished to inspect the sword, he sheathed it and returned it to Iluna.
Iluna sighed.
"What else could they do? When they called me to choose a weapon, I had barely gripped this sword when I obtained Whisper—Pale Justice. Even if I didn't want to use it, those people from The Church wouldn't agree.
"But I really don't like using swords. Once the Moon Bay Incident is over, I'll return it. Compared to cold weapons, the Holy Bell our diviner friend gave me is much easier to use."
It was an artifact of the Ancient God symbolizing balance, used during her Chosen One Ritual.
"That talent really is enviable."
The Countess commented from the side. Iluna shook her head.
"But it also burdened me with destiny. Without Shade and Luvia, I can't imagine how I could have made it this far with a peaceful state of mind. Enough of that. What happened here just now?"
