The information about the Sacrificial Ground was quite important, and Mr. Bernhardt continued:
"They were not core members of the Dragon Devouring Order, after all, so they did not know much about the Sacrificial Ground's functions. But at least one thing was certain: that god's descent would absolutely not happen in an instant. Even after the ritual began, it would take more than twenty minutes."
That was quite reasonable. The more powerful a god was, the more difficult it was for them to descend into the Material World. That was why every God Summoning ritual conducted by the Orthodox Church was so complicated.
"Also, they said that during the Divine Advent Ritual, the Dragon Devouring Order would create widespread chaos throughout the Moon Bay Area. They did not know the specific methods, but they said that this time, the Blood Spirit School, The Truth Society, The Tyranny Club, the Seekers of Light Research Society, and some illegal overseas Ring Arcanist organizations would all be involved."
"That really is a major operation."
Shade sighed.
"Did they mention anything about evil creatures?"
Mr. Bernhardt and Mr. Albert both shook their heads. The former said:
"That is all they knew. However, they knew of some Dragon Devouring Order strongholds inside and outside the city. I plan to inform The Church through black-market channels while also leading people to clear them out myself. Before the final battle, we ought to do something."
Mr. Bernhardt soon left. He probably would not have a moment's rest for the entire Saturday. Before leaving, however, he slipped Shade a note. Shade guessed that it listed the materials he had prepared to assist the Blood Duke's "Divine Advent Ritual."
That left only Shade and the coroner in the morgue. They looked at one another, each waiting for the other
