Worried that Shade might overlook the instructions on the side of the metal plates, Iluna had specifically reminded him.
Thus, on Friday night, Shade went to the Black Night Spirit Temple and opened the three texts beneath the Moon.
He sat cross-legged at the center of the "Sun, Moon, and Stars" Ritual Matrix at the end of the temple. Little Mia had been placed on the ground and was currently pacing around nearby, as though inspecting her territory.
The first text was made from dragon skin, an artifact from the Third Epoch, though the words upon it had been written during the early Fifth Epoch. The text belonged to the Dawn Church and recorded a major event from that era:
"On an unspecified night during the early Fifth Epoch, the Central Continent, West Continent, and northern Southern Continent all witnessed a Blood Moon staining the entire night sky red. The blood-red night persisted in those regions for thirty-nine hours before ending. During that time, countless living creatures suffered Flesh Aberrations, and not even the Witches could avoid them.
"The Witch Emperors formed a joint investigation group, yet failed to uncover the cause of this mutation. Later, through tracing ancient documents, they learned that every thousand years, the Moon of the Material World would always display anomalous phenomena in some region. Such incidents did not occur at fixed intervals, but they were all exceedingly dangerous."
Shade looked at the words written on the dragon skin, then raised his head to look
