Since the Tree Father had given him three attempts, the person they were waiting for would definitely come on the third:
"Before then, let me repair Miss McConaughey's key."
Shade placed the lazy cat on his lap, then found the bottle of resin the Priest had given him. After explaining its effects, the young witch carefully took out the fragments of the shattered key and assembled them into the shape of a key.
Ms. Brooke cast a spell, keeping the fragments in the shape of the key as they flew into the resin.
"It should be repaired after about five minutes."
Shade replaced the glass bottle's cap and had Miss McConaughey keep it herself. The young witch carefully hugged the bottle to her chest, seemingly unwilling to let go before Shade announced that the time was up.
"I'd like to ask you about something."
Shade spoke to Ms. Brooke again. After she nodded, he lowered his voice slightly to keep Mr. Nelson and Miss McConaughey from hearing:
"I want to ask you about an Ancient Evil Being. That evil being is already a relic, and a relic of the highest grade—desire. Have you heard of it? It is said to be the incarnation of the purest desire."
After saying that, he glanced toward the black waters. But with the god clearly standing on the boat, that Mermaid could not possibly appear here even if Shade asked about it.
The Thirteenth Order Great Witch candidate looked quite surprised:
"I know of a relic very similar to the one you described, but why would you bring it up? Since the beginning of this epoch, it has never appeared in its true form. The few incidents associated with it were merely effects left behind by its power."
"Then I'm basically certain we're talking
