Margaret set down the coffee cup in her hand.
"Shade, what do you plan to do? Miss Bethany said she and her brother were separated when they were five. Although they were the same age, I strongly suspect that Albert Bennett doesn't remember anything from his childhood at all."
"Siris can help restore those deep memories, but the problem is that we don't know whether that boy is also part of the Dove."
Shade withdrew his gaze from the window and looked at the Cherry Cupcake on the plate before him. Little Mia had not been brought out; that cat loved this sort of thing most:
"Margaret, can we determine who killed Miss Bethany now? Who exactly were those two mysterious people talking in the alley?"
When this matter was mentioned, Her Royal Highness the Princess visibly hesitated before giving him the answer:
"There are already leads, but I'm afraid we may never uncover the truth. I investigated the people connected to that abandoned Lumber Mill and actually traced it back to a Gray Gloves agent.
"His codename was 'Sage.' He was working in Vesta City when Miss Bethany died three years ago. I used my authority to access the files and discovered that his mission back then had been to come here and exchange intelligence with an agent dispatched by Military Intelligence Section Six."
Although Gray Gloves and Military Intelligence Section Six were opposed to one another, they sometimes still made contact in order to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings. It was an unspoken understanding between both sides:
