The oil painting Crystal Throne had only been completed by Flora after the Woodland War, and it was Galina's first time seeing it. The painting depicted a throne standing alone beneath the trees in a crystalline forest.

She examined Flora's work. While admitting that the scene was indeed breathtakingly beautiful, she still did not quite understand:

"Where are you and Emilia? Why is there only a throne in the painting, with no sign of its king?"

"Flora said that this deliberate blank space was the most artistic choice, and that a lonely Crystal Throne had a better atmosphere. She also said that if she painted both Emilia and me into it, there would be no way to hang the painting."

Shade explained, while Galina thought that perhaps this was the owl's small jealousy. She did not say so, instead gesturing for her maids to come help:

"That makes sense. Flora probably would not want you putting them in the basement either. How do you plan to hang them?"

Of the six oil paintings, Shade's favorite was actually Dance Across Time, the scene of himself dancing with Iluna and Lady Helena Carter from 1821.

He therefore hung that painting in the living room, right beside the Mermaid Oil Painting. Of the remaining five, while Crystal Throne was quite artistic, its scene was too desolate, so he placed it in the living room of Room Two next door, where Emilia could see it whenever she came to study diligently.

The cleverly conceived Silver Wolf in Fire was hung in the bedroom, Unicorn Knight went on the study wall, while Dragon and Owl and Moon Wheel Hanging City were sent to the third floor to replace some of the antique decorative paintings already there.

Flora had not signed any of these paintings, so
