The new weakening effects of the four Mystic Locks all seemed useful, but on closer thought, they did not seem all that useful. Strictly speaking, though, they were not completely useless either.

He immediately tried the Door Key's new trait. First, he aimed the thaumaturgy at himself, and the illusory key turned clockwise once.
"Water of Wisdom."
The illusion of the sword embedded on Lake Heart Island flashed past. Then, transparent and colorless liquid appeared in the empty cup in Shade's hand.
He tasted it himself, but did not feel his mind suddenly becoming sharper. Then he poured it into Little Mia's special water bowl. The cat padded over to have a taste as well, but Shade likewise did not feel that Little Mia's gaze had become any wiser.
"The effect doesn't seem very obvious."
As for the trait that enhanced a Mystic Lock's effects after reversal, making it more real, it was akin to adding another lock to his Mystic Lock, stabilizing its spatial nature and thereby producing that effect.
Unfortunately, Shade did not currently have enough spirit to open a Mystic Lock, so he could only save this trait for another attempt.
The Door Key's final new trait, the ability to consume White Stone Crystals to seal the entrance and exit of a "Space Labyrinth," was something Shade had never expected.
This was the first thaumaturgy Shade had encountered that could directly affect spaces left behind by Ancient Gods. That was naturally very unusual. After all, even the Chosen Ones could only use the spaces left behind by the Ancient Gods; they could not control them at will.
Shade had obtained
