At the critical moment, the ink-colored shield was triggered by the Dragon Scale Amulet hanging from Ellie's chest. The dense night curtain blocked the armored knight's slash.
When the night curtain dispersed and merged back into the darkness, the light blooming from the transparent white apple Ellie held up in both hands froze the Undead Knight and Demon Mount in place. Though the destiny of innocence had not yet fully formed, it was already suppressing evil.
Taking advantage of the enemy being restrained, Little Liana charged in from not far away and smashed the demon and undead aside. By the time the Demon Undead Knight had recovered and prepared to attack again, Ellie had already climbed onto Little Liana's back and was ready for the second round of battle.
"What are you?"
A sound like fingernails scraping glass came from within the black heavy armor, but Ellie had no intention of answering. She placed Little Mia back atop her head. The glowing apple melted in her left hand, and its halo clung to the Unicorn Sword.
Among those connected to Ellie, both Shade and Emilia had once drawn that Sword of Light. But the current enemy was nowhere near enough of a threat to endanger the world, and Ellie had no resolve to save it either. Even so, the Connection of Fate still granted Ellie some skill in wielding the Sword of Light. The strangely shaped pure-white longsword seemed ready to split apart the deep night curtain.
Knight and knight charged at one another again. This time, Doomsday Power from Mr. Snake even appeared around the black armored knight, which was clearly also one of Mr. Snake's Ring Bearers.
The two utterly opposing powers collided in the snow once more, black and white intertwining into the colors of chaos.
