"You consider yourself normal. Then what traits do you have that differ from ordinary people? I mean physical traits."
Wei Ge asked again. She then recalled the day Shade had retrieved her consciousness from that enormous Fire Seed Source. In her bedroom, she had indeed sensed Shade's "special talent." The witch blushed slightly, but that was not what Shade had in mind:
"Leaving aside my superior physical abilities, my most unusual trait is probably that I can absorb any power capable of strengthening me. This body can devour any external power and convert it into something suitable for me. Even now, I haven't figured out the upper limit of this ability to absorb and devour."
"Any external power? Even the Calamity of the World?"
Wei Ge asked. She had only meant it as a joke, but Shade actually nodded:
"Yes. I once devoured a calamity of the earth. I was seriously ill and bedridden for more than half a month afterward, but once I recovered, there were no lingering problems. That was also why my petrification resistance is nearly maxed out."
Wei Ge blinked. She did not ask why Shade would swallow something like that, only finding herself at a loss for words for quite some time:
