As noon approached, Mr. Bernhardt wanted Shade to stay for lunch, but Shade figured Wei Ge was probably still waiting for him, so he politely declined. He then tossed out the Crystal Shoes and returned home, appearing directly in the Lower District. From there, Fragrant Residence was much closer.

The Witches had already returned to their respective cities, and Fragrant Residence had returned to its usual quiet state. Miss MacDonald greeted Shade in the entrance hall. Lunch would not begin for another ten minutes, so she first took him upstairs to see Wei Ge in the study.

While they were going upstairs, the rose-gold-haired young woman lowered her voice and asked Shade:

"Could you try to persuade Teacher later?"

"What's wrong?"

Miss MacDonald leaned closer and answered:

"Teacher slept with those two Curved Neck Bottles in her arms last night. No matter how you look at it, that isn't normal, right? Miss Lorraine and I both tried to persuade her, but Teacher insisted on sleeping with her Younger Sister."

Shade was not surprised at all. Daniste had once shown the same symptoms:

"I can understand Wei Ge's feelings, but it does sound strange. Did she actually tuck the bottles into the bedcovers, or did she just put them on the pillow?"

"She put them on the pillow."

"That's not so bad, then. Don't worry, I'll talk to her."

Wei Ge did not seem idle today either. When Shade and Miss MacDonald entered the study, she was explaining something to Angelina. Only after seeing Shade arrive did she signal for Angelina to go change and prepare for lunch.

"I thought you weren't coming today."

The black-haired Witch spoke with a hint of resentment, giving Shade a hug. Shade smiled and asked:
