After returning home that night, though Shade was exhausted, he still went to Quill Street to find Dorothy and invite her out for a late night snack. Dorothy could tell that Shade had a lot to say, so after putting on a warm lady's coat, she followed him out.
There was a restaurant on Quill Street that was about to close. They chose seats against the wall, with a Lotus Leaf Mouth gas lamp mounted on the wall above their table. Shade ordered food for the two of them and the cat, then said somewhat sorrowfully:
"Don't wear the Red Butterfly Pendant anymore. Tell Leisha not to wear hers either."
"Why?"
the Blonde Young Lady asked curiously.
"Because it's very unlucky."
While waiting for the food, Shade briefly told her the story that had continued from the Fifth Epoch to the present. After hearing it, Dorothy covered her mouth, her eyes reddening. It was not until the restaurant waiter brought over the Fried Shrimp Balls and cream bread that she recovered:
"That story... it's so... Why did something like that have to happen? They were sisters who had promised to stay together forever."
"It was Grace and Helen's own choice. We were only observers. So don't wear the Red Butterfly Pendant anymore."
Shade speared a shrimp ball with his fork and looked at the female writer across from him beneath the gas lamp:
"Your ending will definitely be better than this. I swear it."
After saying that, he took the food off the fork and handed it to the cat, which had been cooped up in its box all day. The cat held the warm food with both front paws and looked at Shade worriedly. It could tell that he was in a bad mood too.
"Are you tired?"
