"Yes, let's talk business."
Only then did Miss Violet speak. She glanced again at the cat sprawled across Shade's lap, then gestured for her maid to bring over a stack of papers. Shade was not sure how advanced papermaking had been at the end of the Fifth Epoch, but visually, the quality of those sheets was fully comparable to the paper he had used back home. They even carried a faint fragrance, suggesting that special treatment had begun with the raw materials.
"The improved formula for the Fire Resistance Potion."
She waved the papers in her hand and passed them to Shade. There were four pages in total, including the ingredients and the potion-making process. Shade scanned through them in less than ten seconds.
"I've also completed part of my thesis."
Miss Teresa rummaged through the stack of books behind her and pulled out a rolled-up parchment.
This roll of parchment was much thicker. Unlike Miss Violet's flamboyant, free-spirited cursive, Miss Teresa's writing was exceptionally neat. The two styles of writing perfectly reflected the personalities of the Witches.
"This is mine."
Shade also took out his own thesis and handed it to the two Witches for inspection.
While they read his thesis, Shade stroked Mia and looked around. Only then did he notice that, compared to the last time he had come here, there were far more scattered daily necessities around the lakeside camp. Though he did not know exactly how much time had passed, the group of eight Witches had clearly prepared themselves to live here for the long term.
Miss Violet looked somewhat pale, a piece had been cut off the hem of Miss Teresa's dress for some unknown reason, and the six maids showed visible exhaustion compared to last time. Though time was in chaos, its passage
